Waited a week for a new starter from RockAuto. Open the box to find that it doesn't match! After talking to the phone operator and explaining that I'm not an idiot, I then gave her the part number. Some dislexic idiot swapped two numbers and gave me one for a Dodge Neon!

Now I get to wait another week.

Haha, sure. But what will you be racing? Gonna take a lot of wd40 to unlock that Elantra from its current state.

Rockauto said they would mail me the return postage last Thursday. I waited a day and didn't get it so I called back and got it instantly. Mailed it off late Saturday, so they mailed the "correct one" Monday. Expect to be here Friday. It better be the right one.

So, while I'm waiting for the new starter, I decided to try and clean up the headlamps. They're yellowed, hazy, and pitted. Can't even see the bulbs inside.

Started sanding with 600, then 1200, then waxed. Still just a little hazy, so I'm gonna go back over it with more sanding, some 2000, and then wax it better. Then do the others. As it is, it's still lightyears better than what it was.

Ive seen the headlight sealant that keeps them looking new, but that crap is $50. Not sure if there is a cheaper alternative.

There is, but not as good. It's not just a sealant it's a UV protectant and hard coat. And, as you say, hideously expensive.
