Hello, all!
8 years later and yes, the car is still around! What a trip down memory lane scrolling through this thread is!
I did finally break a stock axle a few years ago at the drag strip. They prepped the track with VHT and I was unaware. The inner axle shaft fractured where it exits the differential and got seized in the diff. I had to weld up a custom puller to get it out, but the Quaife is fine! I got a quote for 650hp axles from driveshaft shop, but can't justify the $2600 cost so I'll continue running stock axles, just won't drag the car anymore.
Not really too many updates aside from getting some 245/30/17 tires so I could finally install and run the Volk TE37V wheels. The car looks great on them, though I think 17s may be one size too large for these cars.
I had to replace the straight cut gears for gears 1-2 with factory gears and the stock input shaft. The gears were damaged during the same track event that severed an axle shaft.
I'm still running E85 and 2+ Bar of boost (30 PSI). The engine is holding up great. No smoke or blow by whatsoever. That said, I probably only drive the car 2-300 miles per year.
I still have everything to make a 4" exhaust from the turbo back, but just haven't motivated myself to do it, especially knowing 3" is plenty for the current output of the engine.
If anyone has any questions about the car, I'd be happy to answer them or help if I can. I'll check this thread occasionally going forward.
Take care all!

I had axles done for my race Tib by Insane Shafts. I believe I only paid like $600-800 and he guarantees them to not break. He should have my info on file, but he sounded like he would rather have the shafts in hand to guarantee fitment. Try looking back at my thread. I had pics and everything. Good luck!

I talked directly to Mike Evans. Looks like I paid $900 including taxes and shipping all said and done. These were the 1k hp capable shafts. He did have a lesser HP edition for almost half the cost.

Hey, Jon!
Great to hear from you. Crazy you still have your cars, too! I could never sell it. Plus, the book value is probably less than a grand lol.
Thanks for the link and info on the axles!
While I'd love to come to Texas to help work on your car, my wife and I have a 4 month old to look after, so long distance travel is out for a while, lol!
I need to get the car uncovered and running after winter (still only 27F here in NH).
I'll post updates here if I do anything to the silver bullet in the coming months!
