Thats a great idea, Missy.
Cant wait to see how these turn out. Not sure if Ill need it with my new motor mounts but well see.

I agree, it would help quite a bit, but a thicker steel L would work well too. Remember, the more complex we make these, the more they'll cost.

Okay. On that note, banned for 4 days also. No warning, but I did give you the option.
If you guys register another account I'll ban it, and warn both of you.

it doesn't need a gusset since it is a side pull opposite to the force being applied to the gusset. getting the best angle to where the cylinder does the work is the key on this. I work with gussets and other forms of reinforcement on a daily basis with the buckets and blades I build where I work.
this is totally off topic but just to give you a idea of what i build, here is some pics.

once again, sorry for the OT.

Ursonvs, if you want to send me the dimensions of the strut mount (mainly the dimensions of the rear portion of the mount), the rough angle it's at and the material used, I can run a quick calculation to see how much force this thing can hold, just to put people's minds at ease. I know it's a lot, but to get an actual number would probably help.

As posted a few times in here, they will be made a bit thicker to make sure there's no flex in them. The current ones can flex a bit if you push on it, and I did post that before. That's been why we wanted them redone, to get rid of the flexing and to clear the cruise control.
Glad you guys are interested, I surely miss having this on my car already.
