Over on club3g.com we have the "pic of the week" thread. Members post the best photo they've taken from that week and I believe the best one's voted on. The picture can be of anything, but is generally car related.

 

Good idea - I've thought about that, maybe not weekly though. I'm not sure how involved our members would be to make that a weekly thread.

 

That's what I was thinking as well. Club3g has a significant amount of members compared to here, so it makes it easier to run a weekly contest.

 

So is it my take that we are "definitely" keeping COTM, but just changing some things around for it?

 

At this point, yes. There is an overwhelming majority that would like to see the COTM continue. We have a member of the staff that has offered to take on that responsibility.

Changes will be made, yet it's unclear exactly what those will be. Most likely we'll remove the month-specific entries (i.e., turbo, n/a, RD1, RD2, anything goes). We're still open to any and all ideas. The members drive the forum, let us know what you want and we'll do what we can to make it happen.

We would like to go with the majority on anything that we do, however, we must keep in mind the goal and purpose of the site.

i like this idea, maybe do this and cotm?? you could do it everyweek see what happens with it, and then if noone puts pictures in make it every 2 weeks or month.

A few of us are considering a quarterly contest, then a year-end poll to fill in the monthly gaps (so 5 contests total). Feedback?

 

quarterly really seems the way to go to have a good selection of entrees. so youll have 5-7 cars per quarter instead of 1 or 2 a month.

 

You should still keep it every month! As I see it the first car entered dictates the rest of the cars that would enter. Everybody knows their own car and if the first car entered is a better modded car or you feel that car is better than yours then of course you are not going to enter as we all hate rejection. This could be the whole reason that you have less people participating. It still should be broken down in different categories but a new twist could be one month the worst car, the most pimped out/rice, the most Km's/Miles, cars with hunks and hottie's, sound systems, engines only...etc. Larrs
