I'm not really sure if that would be considered ghetto rigging or not. Can I get confirmation on this technique? I can do that easily.

Hmmmm. It looks promissing. I do like the idea, but I would like to hear someone else's oppinion of using pop rivits and filling it with JB weld.

why do people keep saying that? How hard is it to align? Should I mount the radiator first? My fenders arent' busted, so I've got to remove the fenders, cut away the old brace, bolt on the new brace to the two holes, then tack it up where it needs to go. Right?

Pop rivits and JB Weld? getout.gif

lol Seriously though why?

IMO I wouldn't do it. If it is supposed to be welded then weld it.

it wouldnt be all that bad you would have to tak of the fenders yes drill or cut out the spot welds with a grinder making sure not to cut into the metal below the top layer. this will take some time to do,then u will prolly have to drill new holes in the new peice for every one then just line it up which should be fairly easy since ur car is damaged much. personally i would never use the pop rivits and jb weld since its not going to be nearly as strong as welds and the core support is a pretty important structural part.

i would do it that way.. would work just as good as long as you used a good amount of rivets and did it right. just because its meant to weld, doesn't mean its the only way..

you could do it this DIY way with rivets and JB weld and save yourself a TON of money and be able to say you did it yourself.

of course if you were able to weld, or knew someone that would do it for cheap to free, then do it that way.

but i would give a thumbs up to the DIY rivet/JB weld way.
