ur choice but if u want a professional job done then weld if u want a hack way to save money and not ever be as strong then do it the pop rivit j/b weld way.

 

Just flipping have it welded. Don't cheap out. This isn't the type of part that you wanna cheap out on. If it's off even slightly, it'll effect the whole front end.

and if you have it welded by some mom and pop shop, theres more of a chance itll be slightly off, and then you can't redo it..

the JB weld pop rivet way would work AS fine as anything...

the radiator support does what, holds on the bumper, radiator, headlights, and other small things.. the frame takes care of the real stuff. the radiator support isn't a crucial part of the frame, its just something that everything bolts to. a pop rivet every 6" and the support isnt going anywhere, EVER.

 

We've done a few of these and I've had to correct the mistakes of welding even a couple mm's off and it's not fun, Rivet it and after its all lined up and perfect have it welded if you're not satisfied.

it shouldnt be to hard to line up not much to it since theirs only one place to put it just line up spot welds. ohh and for it not have any importance other than jut bolting up think in place isnt true if u go and actully look at it the only think in front of it is the bumper reinforment and it sits so low that almost every vehicle sits higher than it and what does it hit if u wreak it the hood which is conected to ur rad. support and if its rivited the car will be sitting on the engine... especially if its an suv or truck.

 

ok, in the tiburons case, not a big SUV or mack truck, the rivet DIY way would work perfectly fine.

if you rivet it in, itll bend and might snap off on the sides.. and if you weld it in, itll just bend in.. both will be pushed back pretty much the same amount based on the speed.. either way, you will need to replace the rad. support if you get in another accident.

and would have pretty much the exact same amount of damage.

 

Someone should sticky this since nearly every tiburon has been or will get wrecked.

IMO i would hae it done at a frame shop and just have them check the rest of the car as well. mainly i say this due to seeing less serious damage than this, cause alignment issues, althogh not visable, are easily cause without hitting main frame supports.

 

Rivits hold alot of aircraft together and epoxy holds the lotus m111 chassis together.

I deem them safe for this application.
