^^thats 6 times the cost and 10x the effort. me, socks, and others would rather just run less boost.

ya, alotta people would like to do that, but you gotta think about money.. if people dont really need the pistons, then this is the way to go.

pistons - 430$
machine work-~100$
install-~150$ depending on the shop, gap the rings, install pins, reinstall rods, etc.

time down for having to pull the motor, bring it to a shop, etc..

OR you could just spend 95$, take the head off yourself, install this, and call it a day. as long as you know your limits and you dont try to push boost like you have a fully built motor you will be more than fine.

by getting this gasket, you lower the compression significantly, and save ~580$.. Thats a lot of money for someone who doesn't NEEED pistons..

and, if you were to do pistons, it would be a good idea to spend another 600$ on rods, and 100$ on bearings, and 60$ on rod bolts, but that would be in a perfect situation with alot of money to just spend..

like i said, this gasket isnt for people wanting to push 400-500whp, just for the people who want to push a lil more than the stock internals, matched with stock compression are good for.

Didn't you have the 3mm low comp spacer Nate?

Well that is true it is a lot cheaper, but on the other hand if you are like everyone else you will want more boost/power eventually so I would save up and go for it.

its not really the wrong way to do it though.. and not EVERYONE needs to have more and more and more power..

no, i got rid of the spacer and my forged pistons, cuz i needed money, and didnt have the need for them at the time..

the spacer is an easy, effective way to push a lil more boost than with stock internals, and you will save loads of money and not have to take apart the motor.

stock compression-less boost/ lower compression, a little more boost

either way your gonna have about the same power. when u lower the compression, your making the motor more dependant on the turbo itself to make the power, a higher compression motr with turbo on the other hand doesnt need the turbo to do all the work. it can support itself, and make that much more power under boost. plus this gasket just add's more things to fail.

id rather just run lower boost on stock internals and make the same amount of power, and have the same reliability, and that extra cash in my pocket.

i see what your saying. but its a pretty good price to lower the compression almsot one point.

its something to fail, but its a reputable gasket company, as far as i know. and it will just replace the stock hyundai head gasket.

you also wouldnt have to worry about as many things, if you had pistons installed, like bad machine work, crappy mechanic, etc.

in theory, if this gasket was well made, and worked like it was supposed to, you should be able to push about 3-4psi more than on stock internals to make a significant amount of power more then without the gasket. its not as drastic of a drop in compression, like when you install 8.5:1 pistons or decomp. plate.

I don’t think there bad, but in my case I am going to boost somewhere around 30psi give or take little plus NX on top of that. I didn’t want to boost this much in the beginning but it changed. The good thing is I have a badass mechanic!!!

and that you have plenty of money to toss around since your going to build your motor for 30+psi and nitrous... this is for the tuners that dont have thousands to throw around for huge motor builds, thousand dollar turbos, nitrous setups, etc...
