the alpine turbo kit comes with a decompression gasket. i wouldnt use it personally. its a ghetto fix. id rather just boost on the stock compression. or actually build the motor right.

hmmm.. that seems like alot.. i know that with the reg. decomp. plate gaskets, you use two stockers.. does this replace the stockers..

Kspec and sharkracing decomp plate is 3mm thick

This gasket is 2.3622mm thick.

I'm not sure what compression ratio you'll have afterwards. What is the stock thickness of the gasket?

everyone seems to keep missing this...

well, its not a decomp plate. its just a gasket. which gets me concerned about how it would hold up. stock thickness is around .762mm so it should make a difference.

i didnt miss it lol..

im thinking the gasket they are selling is probably for 8.8-9:1 compression. mmm just where i would want it..

i figured you were kinda sure what the thickness was, but not sure.. if they are .03" then they are.. i wish i still had my extra one, i could measure it..

if that gasket is good from summit, i would really want it. i know its a band aide, but i wont be running insane numbers, i would just want a lil more assurity to not go BOOM.

its really not a ghetto fix though. if your not going to going with insanly high boost, or high high hp numbers, then this would be great, and give you the extra assurance of safety.

if i had some $$ right now, i would pick one up..

yah. over time it may be a lil different, and depending on how much torque put on the bolts, etc.. .003" is thinner than a human hair.. lol

i say you buy it, and give it a try. then report back. total guess, but i would say it would lower compression to around 9:1. thats perfect for your setup. i know you want to raise the boost.

do it now. wink1.gif
