On a straight thru system, a cat would help wonders with backpressure. You need some to keep the boost from just shooting through the combustion chamber doing nothing.

Umm... you guys do realise... it's actually a +55 HP Gain???

Dynojet reads the to-the-wheels HP correct?

Welll, a stock 2.0L Tibby to-the-wheels does 118-121 HP.
So if he is pulling 173 HP, that's almost a +55 HP improvement....

Pretty damn good numbers IMO...

Of course, all dynos read to the wheels. 50% gain over stock is respectable, but not for near 4000 dollars after you factor in tuning and odd parts not included with the kit. Thats like 80 bucks a horse plus needing to run higher octane and probably losing 4-5MPG.

You can take any car thats new and make it turn 50% over stock for less than 4k.

You all do know that Ford got his kit and installed it right?

He got like 40 HP.

LMAO

3K for 40 HP.

No thanks.

Also, his insurance dropped him when he tried to add coverage for his SC.

LOL

Sigh.. i4 vs. v6.. Wow, 180hp w/ supercharger (better torque) or a n/a v6 that weighs more, but about the same hp (not really, 180 @ the wheels for ford, thats a bit more MINUS weight)..

For you people who say its not worth the gains.. Noone mentions torque.. The torque for s/c is incredible compared to a turbo.. While your turbo producting 210 WHP @ full spool is 30 hp more, you have the lack of bottom end and torque.. I wouldnt doubt it that his 180hp s/c motor could take a 200+ HP turbo motor.. Not only that, hed get more gains w/ like already said, fuel management (uni-chip, smt, w/e) and a better exhaust system..

Maybe before you all bad mouth it, give it some credit.. Its amazing what a s/c can do..

Miraculous, finally me and Redz agree on something.

Ehh... I make more torque than HP with my turbo. I actually make 400whp/430wtq on race gas. Low-end doesn't matter anyway in a straight line. He's already running a unichip and a header/exhaust setup, not a good one... but still its there. 180whp on a Tib is basically maxing out the supercharger.

Superchargers do better on mid-high displacement V6s and V8s, where they are "comparable" to a turbo. 'Nuff said.

First off, I was wrong, Ford said he dyno'd at 160 HP before the SC, and now he's at 173. LMAO

$3K for 13 HP. Wonderful

Great, you got some mad torque yo. See ya when you get to the finish line.

BTW, that's his dyno. Notice the HIGH TORQUE gains? LMAO

Only if you tune it so. If you get a smart sized turbo and have it spool at 2000 RPM, hell, you launch higher than that.

Well, first he'd have to MAKE the 200 HP.

Yeah, it's amazing that folks can spend 3 grand for 13 HP.

Doode, remember Ford's thing is to "Think outside the box", and 9 out of 10 times, it has failed for him. Everyone warned him that SC's were tried early on in the Beta history, to VERY poor results, and nope, he didn't listen.

I've been around here for what, 4 years now? I've seen it come and go. SC's, SUCK< Turbo's blow.

Please do bro.

BTW Techon, what are you running in the SC back home?

I thought you were dissapointed in all of the results too man?

The fact is though, Ford talked out his ass for quite some time saying he was gonna start at 200 HP and work up from there, and he can't even hit 180.
