Beta2 Alpine Supercharger
The only argument that I agree on is the cost of HP per dollar for this kit. However when you take a little s/c such as the M45 and make it throw 5 psi and gain 40 something whp. thats good power to psi ratio. I am happy with my kit cause I didn't pay no 3k for it. The time I didn't like this s/c was when it was going through R&D with the ECU reflashed. Then after another month having Alpine retune the Unichip. The beast came alive.lol But I have stated in earlier post if I had to do over I would of went turbo for the simple fact I want more boost now. But thats also why theres a NX wet kit sitting in my garage right now.hehehe
The kit how ever makes good numbers on the amount of air the tiny thing flows.
Xorro is making about 185whp with Unichip at 6-8 psi and water injection
Ford right now is at 173whp without Unichip 5-6psi I believe
I am making 163whp with Unchip at 4 psi
She has a gain of 60 whp
He has a gain of 40 whp compared to his n/a dyno
I have a gain of about 50 whp.
EACH psi is almost equal to about 10 whp. Once Ford put the unichip in with the 5th injector he will gain probably another 10 whp cause of the timing set on the unichip and the 5th injecter helps cool intake temps. My dyno is using a dynopack.
Like I said before the only true argument with the kit is the cost per hp ratio.
Now my recomendations to Alpine. This kit needs to be redesigned with an Auqacooler. I seen other vehicle kits with some type Aqua cooler with less space than we do and those monster put out 200whp or more. Or reduce price by about 800 bucks. But the over all tuning of the kit is a hell of a lot better done than when Yam had his kit which is the same kit I have in my car right now.

Very well written man, and I fully agree.
If you want a little extra pep, and aren't looking for huge #'s, then maybe a SC could be the way to go. For the price though, wow, let's see really quick.
Fordfaster said he dyno'd at 160 before the SC, then the dyno I posted was 173 after the SC.
173-160 = 13HP.
$2700 for the SC kit (I'm keeping the #'s simple) divided by the HP it gave (13)= $207.69 per HP.
Ouch.

160whp was not before his s/c, 130whp was. Think about it how many beta II or I's have you seen been running 160whp n/a in the states. None that I know of. Especially when only have I/H/E.
Remember if your not running a good piggy back unit your going to have to reset the ecu ever so often because the ecu relearns. With the unichip I have not had to reset the ecu, even though I have done it cause I was doing other maintance so why not.

^^ Ford said he was running 160 several times...
NHRA uses blowers because they are simpler to maintain, if they run into a problem before a race they can usually get the problem fixed beforehand a lot quicker, and the way they are running timing/etc. a turbo would create the same results and be a lot less dangerous and create less problems. Since you can't really run a single turbo on a V8, not very practical, the maze of piping and everything would be a pain in the ass along with vacuum lines, etc. Blowers are a lot simpler.
Tech, I'm fairly sure your not running the supercharger on stock exhaust/airbox/etc. Thats probably inflating PSI to HP numbers, most of the time that shouldn't be included, especially @ low boost numbers where it inflates the average.
Alpine needs:
a) A bigger supercharger, that thing is small and weak.
B) Run an intercooler of some sort... I never really liked the added cost of running methanol, etc.
How does a 5th injector knock down IAT? Shouldn't have any effect on it in any way. And I'm pretty sure he is already running the unichip with that dyno, getting the car dynoed and not tuned while your on it doesn't make any sense.

Not one post has he stated he was 160 whp N/A. Not here or XD or newtib. The only referance where he said anything close was a dyno from a spec V and the current dyno in this thread which was from the ecu relearning the fuel curve with the AFR 1(I think thats what its called) he is running . Do you guys read post or just speculate. These are how rumors start, so and so said this when all they did was read part of stuff and not the subject. Come on guys facts need to be correct before we post.:drillserg Unless he sent you a personal PM saying he was really at 160 whp before the s/c which I highly doubt.
The only mods that I have is Random CAI and custom cat-back the rest is stock down to the org plug wires. SO all in all I still have about 50 whp gain. Its still a rough gestamate till i go back to my org dyno which was on a dyno jet where I ran 123whp. Hopefully by this summer I can complete some futher projects. Depending on deployment or not again.

QUOTE (REDZMAN)
I'll have to look again, he had a post that said he dyno'd 160 before the SC.
He never had these numbers for N/A. Best whp he had was 137-138whp a while ago. Right before S/C he had 134whp I think. Now he has 173whp, so it's almost 40whp gain, which makes it $70 per HP. Not bad at all, considering that he has room to grow smile.gif
I read exd all the time, as well as I talk to Ford, so I would know what his readings are.
