Raced A 2006 Civic Si Today At The Track
^^^Good point, the GK is a big mother, lol. I still like the styling of it though.
If I ever got one of the GK's, I would get the 2.0L and turbo the crap out of it. It would surprise the crap out of everyone considering they would all think "that thing must be slow, it's the 4 cylinder model" lol.

I know everyong hates the V6 but I wouldnt mind letting my shop take a look at it if I got a GK.
Is there anyway to twin turbo the V6? I have never really looked at the engine close up.
But if you take a 5 speed rd with h/i/e, you will beat most of the civics at the track. vtec or not
If you can drive
The 06 is just crazy

There are several people running TT or single turbo setups on the GK. It seems to be a pretty decent motor... most people agree ~300whp is the stopping point before internal work is dictated.
i thought about the GK alot before i got my rd2.. but being as heavy as they are, and theres SOO many of em, compared to the rd series..
and the low powered v6, with the alumminum block.. even though they hold some good power, our blocks are almost bullet proof. i know you need to upgrade the internals, but our cast iron blocks will hold more power than anyone on here will ever push.
i just hate the v6, it only has 30 more hp that the 4 cyl.
i think if i ever was gonna build a sleeper car, i would get an XD and turbo the crap out of it, or a beta swapped LC or LC2..
people just assume the tibs may be somewhat quick cuz their looks most of the time.. i had a local guy with an auto v6 GK talk soo much shit to me when i first started modding my car. he bragged about his shark racing intake, CF hood, exhaust, and said my tib would never compare.. i raced him 3X, one time even, other two i beat him by a bit..
i wouldnt wanna GK, because of the relative attitude of GK guys, and the tib lost its style after the rd2..
if you wanna build a car thats gonna surprise people, best bet would be to build an rd, swapped accent, or j2..
and the TT setup would be expensive, and alotta people prob. do it, just to be like i got a TT tib.. would prob be better off on a big RIPP mods setup, or one big turbo.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>SI owns Tibby in almost any kind of acceleration contest you can throw at it. And mod for mod, SI will only gain more power for each mod. We have great cars.. but Tibby's are ancient to today's standards. There's a pretty large margin between the Tibby and SI to begin with.</div>
uhh no... by the time you spent the money buying the SI and putting the same mods in as the tibby you might as well have just bought a REAL car... on top of which 2 friggin liters is 2 friggin liters, just depends on how much your willing to spend.
Honda people get over yourselves, our car has almost no support and still manages to keep up with you.
Btw, my grandmom has an 06 si lmao.gif

I don't know about some of you, but i find some of this smellin like some... well whatever. intake header and exhaust is the basic setup for any "FAST AND THE FURIOUS!" car. I can bring 50 cars from my high school easy with the same setup. The new SI's are powerful... Hands down, it would kill a tib with i-h-e. That car may be low in torque, but its a 2006 first off... thats 5 years improvement if you have the last rd2 made. Even more for an RD1. I love RD's, but I'm not going to live in denial... That car would destroy us. It's made to be a sports car for the newest age of spoiled rich kids. They have probably the biggest market for parts, and we have the one of the smallest. If you do work to your tib besides the "usual" setup, then maybe. but it just can't hang.
I can tell you right now that an Si would prove to be a good challange, but in the end I would likely win, no joke, no denail, just the straight up truth man.
And just so you know, brand new hondas don't have any aftermarket built up yet, so they have to wait, by now, maybe there are some available bolt ons, but straight out of the factory when they were first built, there were probably nearly no modifications other than intake exhaust available.
