No offense man but thats a given you should modify your computer to "sports shift" or do a manual swap if you plan on keeping up with tibs or any other manual car that is around the same horse power

I have never gotten a chance to race a new si at the track before. But on more than one previous occasion, I have beaten the older hatch (the generation before this one) and earlier model si's (the generation before the latest hatch models) with my naturally aspirated tiburon - no nitrous. And before you say it, no they did not suck at driving lol.

I really doubt this.
New SI's dominate.
Underpowered Tibby's even modded have no chance against most fast 06+ cars.
Good thing you missed 3rd gear, when the SI hits 3rd the DOHC i-VTEC will pull it away

Your tib is still auto right....?
I could see how (you) could say a tiburon couldnt outrun a si
My car always hangs with the Civic Si at the track and most of the time I kill them. The 06 was got a little to much for me to handle right now, but not for long smile.gif, 400hp or bust baby.

SI owns Tibby in almost any kind of acceleration contest you can throw at it. And mod for mod, SI will only gain more power for each mod. We have great cars.. but Tibby's are ancient to today's standards. There's a pretty large margin between the Tibby and SI to begin with.
Kind of OT, but a lot of tuners don't even know our cars exist!! Why do you think people stare in awe at our modified Turbulence's? I wish Hyundai had stuck to the original Tiburon roots; reasonably lightweight, powerful 4 cylinder motor, small/compact, etc. Tiburon would be a much better car than a GK now. That thing is a boat, and only has a 170hp V6? Too bad the Tiburon is so Americanized now instead of sticking to it's KDM roots.. maybe for 02 we would have seen a powerful 170hp+ I4 w/ CVVT, with a slick 6spd transmission and weighing in at no more than 2,500 lbs.
But yeah, 400hp in a Tibby and you're pretty much set for any make and model, regardless of year. wink1.gif
Damn, wish I hadn't sold her...
