Well a friend of mine got the new 2006 Civic Si with a aftermarket shortram intake, and we took it to the track today. My rd2 with I/H/E, highflow cat, nology wires and silverstone plugs.

1st race
1st gear with very little spin we were neck and neck, 2nd gear we were head to head(I had to almost redline to stick with him), I missed 3 and got owned

2nd race
Both of us spun like crazy off the line...I went into second and felt my clutch give a little so I let him go...

All in all I feel pretty good about the races because that car is one wicked mother f*cker, and the tib held its ground!

He didnt have much to say but he told me that he gave me mad props since he didnt think I would even be in the ball park.

200hp vs ???HP how many hp should I be hitting

He thinks I am close to 170 but I think he's crazy. I said about 150 or so

Well just thought I would let everyone know the 06 Civic Si is in our reach with only a a few more mods than me...

I'd say probably closer to about 130 on your end. Was his car auto? If not does he know how to drive well? If so then you did very well. Nearly no chance with those mods to BEAT an SI much less hand him his @$$. Boost just over 200 though and almost any SI (considering its only been mildly modified) will be F@!#ed, lol. Either way good job.

with your mods youd be lucky to be at 130 at the wheels.
that civic must have been auto or the driver sucks

I dont think the 06 Si came in an auto...but he has the 6 speed

He would have gotten me even if I didnt miss 3rd but I was with him all the way up untill then.

Made me feel pretty good about the ol tib

So 130whp really? Whats stock, I thought we were around 140 stock is that to the flywheel?

So is the Si 197whp?

He can drive pretty well...but I think I am a little better...he loses time on takeoff and shifts...but I think it wouldnt have made much difference with a different driver on the first race...I just caught major traction, cold night air...wish I didnt miss 3rd to see how close it really was.

Man socks you dont even know how bad I want your set up and take another wack at him...

the si is quick as is... even with some moderate n/a mods on the tib, it'll be owned nicely...

the si has 197hp @ 7800 rpm (redline is 8000 rpm) and 139 torque @ 6200. It already comes with a short throw shifting with a factory LSD. Stock 1/4 mile et is 15.1 seconds (which a tib can surpass with some nitrous or fi)

Now, on my past encounter with one... i had to be over 5 psi on my t3 super 60 to be able to beat it at the track

WHP= wheel horsepower which is less than flywheel hp. Think of all the trans weight and wheels ect more you have to move. Such as ligt wheels wont improve your flywheel hp but will improve your whp (big brakes drop your whp, I think on one show the big brakes lost him 12 whp).
The civ doesnt have 197 whp thats flywheel, and we have 138 or 140 stock.

His mods make him good for low to mid 15s, at least at sea level with a good motor.
