/ interesting, we figured the speedo's were misleading but i didnt even think bout the Tach...hmm

 

coming out of the downtown tunnel a prolly 93-95 white accord was trying to mess around. so i showed him....I hit 110 according to my speedo. But I also have alot bigger tires. so I guess around 117. My tire size is 195.60.15. By the way. I still didnt see that accord in my rearview by the time I got off. Seems like it was climbin really fast at those high of speeds. I was REALLY suprised.

 

can somebody please kill this topic.. it has more lives than a cat.

I have to agree with some of the others and say that driving fast/racing is really stupid. You're putting more than your own life at stake.

However, that won't stop me from telling my own story.
There is this road near my parents house out in the sticks that's about 5 miles of straight open plains with a steep hill at each end, kind of a valley. Some times when I'm out there and the road is empty I kick up the speed to about 100. If you hit the hill at the one end going fast you get this neat roller-coaster-zero-g feeling because it crests suddenly and goes right back down like a roller-coaster. Anyways, fastest I've gone in the Tib is 115, handled very well. 120 my Daytona (when it still ran good) and 120+ in my Dart (the speedo stops at 120). All of this was done on an empty rual road with only myself in the car.

 

I feel slow Ive been up to 125, everybody thinks that im lying about it.

 

been up to 127 on i80 in wyoming had to slow down had two mac trucks in front and coming up quick

But I agree that your speedo probably said that.

 

If anyone still cares.. that guy going 210 was on a highly modified BIKE! crazy ***... I read all about it in a magazine. He was clocked by a helicopter i think. The helicopter got his plates and he was gone. As he got further and further away the speed kept increasing.. But they sent the ticket to him in the mail and i believe he lost his license for 6 moth. My friend has the magazine I will check it out when i get home.


Oh and in the same magazine was a guy street racing in his CRX on the interstate. He lost control, went into oncoming traffic. An accord (i believe) hit the car on the side completely seperating the front (from teh front bumper, engine fenders and all) from the firewall and the rest of the vehicle. The back end on the car rolled backwards down the interstate in oncoming traffic. while the front half with the engine tumbled down the other side into another car. then an Explorer hit the crx (what was left of it) in the back end. igniting the fuel lines and rupturing the fuel tank. once again tumbling down the road engulfed in flames. with the guy still inside. the car was hit one more time by another car before coming to a stop.. the guy was unconscious (sp?) and was pulled from the car by the same people who cars he totaled... he lived but was VERY VERY badly banged up.



Anyone want to race on the interstate still???
