I had a reason for my 130 mph stupidity.... it was 4 in the morning and my friend was having an asthma attack and needed his inhaler at his house.... so me being young and stupid I decided to get him to his house as fast as possible. Hence as soon as I hit an open stretch of road... I floored it and never left off the gas until we were about a mile or so from where I needed to turn. No other cars were on the road at that point in time. my only thoughts were get to his house NOW

You definitely had a good reason to do what you did, I just don't want some 16 yr old to see this thread and go try to top his car out and get killed...

I really don't see the point to it either. Thats why the fastest I've ever gone is what I went on the track. 120mph = setting yourself up to getting your liscence suspended for a year or so. Whats the point of doing that on the street anyway, I'll laugh if one of you is doing that and theres some debris on the road that you can't avoid, or you hit a dog/deer and tear the sheet out of your tib. Should be locked anyway since its basically street racing.

Ham tried saying that a decade ago or whenever this thread was made. lmao.gif

Hmmm..not sure about the top speed in my truck, speedo went to 85 but we had it above that, had a little ACR neon up to around 110-115, only been up to like 85-90 in my Celi. Not worth the tickets to go faster, unless someone is dying

That said.. What is the Tib's stall speed, Patreezy?

LMAO! lmao.gif

well, let's see. A C-172 weighs in at 1710lbs bone stock. With fuel, all passengers, luggage, you aer looking at anywhere from 2,200lbs to 2,550 MAX take off weight. That's around a tib wieght right?
So at V subx pitch attitude (i.e. best rate of climb), on the approach flare the tib stalled at around 40KIAS. (about average for the C-172).

That was at 30degrees flaps. (i.e. pop-up huge bench spoiler). Haha

What is there to be said about the rev limiter? And how come everyone with automatic rd1s say they top out at 130, myself included?
Why don't we turn this thread into something where we can learn about our car's engine and fuel cut-off, rather than top speeds and more breaking the law.

Guys, I'm closing this thread.

After much discussion and review, here's what I see.

1. Most folks in this thread have got their car to the speed limiter at 125.

2. Most folks in here are lying about going over 125.

3. Most folks in here have broken speedos.

4. Most folks in here did NOT get that speed on the track. (I know I didn't.)

This is no better than street racing threads, and it's gotta stop folks.

We all know the speed limiter is at 125, and going much past that, more than 2 or 3 MPH is not going to happen.

So.

Consider this a farewell...
