People That Street Race On This Site.
You got really, really lucky..and your quick judgement probably did save not only your life but the lives of the others. Good thing your fine.
Street racing is beyond stupid. When I visit my home state, I get harassed a lot because I drive the Prelude. Its so stupid. The best thing to do is to just ignore people who want to do that dumb stuff..they obviously dont have a brain.

quite sad...
Very sad, but I count myself among the blessed. I get a second chance, where many before me have perished in accidents like this one.

Out of curiousity, did you signal when you switched lanes? I take it you were wearing a seat belt otherwise you probably would have been done for.
God kept you safe, which is what counts, and you probably saved the lives of the Eclipse driver and/or truck driver.

I did signal to switch lanes and I ALWAYS wear a seatbelt. Wearing a seatbelt is like the first thing I do as a habit when I get in any car. The seatbelt saved me from being thrown, plus I pushed against the floor and pushed my back into the seat, held onto the steering wheel and braced for impact.
Anyone notice that in my delirious state, I put on the parking break before I got out of my car?

Amazing. and thank God youre ok. thanks for sharing that. I hope it will show others how dangerous it is
Yes, it's dangerous and stupid to speed so fast or even if you like to street race. It's selfish and thoughtless.

glad you are still with us.. that is all I can say there.
What happened "officially" according to the police?
What happened "officially" according to the police?
According to the police, it was a street race. According to witnesses, it was a streetrace and we were head to head and side by side. According to the news, we were both teenagers streetracing super-modded imports and we clashed doors and then lost control and flipped over onto the sides of the road. All are a big crock of lies, but oh well. I will let the judge and my lawyer sort it out. Also, my car flew and flipped 3 times for 245 feet. I really shouldn't have survived.
In my heart, it was all God's protection over me so that I can still serve his purpose on this earth. I think I need to be a better example to people that look up to me and I was given another chance to do so.

That sucks mate but it's good to hear you made it out in one piece.
To be honest though, upon seeing the truck pull out in front, I'd have simply started to apply the brakes (or planted my foot on the brake pedal depending on how close the truck was) & hoped for the best.
Granted, the Eclipse would've had to have been surgically removed from your arse but you probably wouldn't have rolled the car that way.
Also, there would have been no question as to who was at fault... none of these street racing accusations, at least.
