Engine Dampers? Kfx Performance...

Classic Redz right there. LOL. And the 10mm bolt he was talking to doesnt look like it will be used anymore. And if it was it wouldnt be just on the one bolt.

RedZ, the L-shaped bracket was on the first pics you posted... I corrected myself in my second post, I hadn't seen the new pictures because they didn't show up for some reason.

I am not "getting technical". If you are going to produce parts for something you better make sure they resist to what you want to put them through.
And...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (REDZ MAN)</div><div class='quotemain'>What does it LOOK like they are made of? LOL Steel.</div>
You do know there is more than one type of silver-colored metal on earth? Even if it IS steel, what kind of steel is it?
Anyways, I am not arguing about the bracket design because you guys changed it, I was referring to the first model you showed with the L-bracket on the single 10mm bolt.
I am still maintaining my comment about the torque steer though, unless you care to inform me on how your damper will change my differential's characteristics. I understand it might make it a bit less noticeable because there is less wheel hop, but it doesn't get rid of it.

I didn't see this posted anywhere, and may have gotten confused on the first pic of 2 dampers lying there, but I assume this only has one damper?
And while this is going to have to hold a bit, it's mainly holding back the inertia of the engine. Yes, there will be a little more force, but it's primarily the turning of the engine due to inertia. So the brackets you have designed will be perfectly fine (I should know, I'm presently taking mechanics of materials... lol)
Looking good, still waiting to hear about that price! fing02.gif

One damper my man. Yeah, i agree, maybe I should go have these made with some high carbon titanium alloy or something, in case anyone here decides to push 40000 HP on their Beta.
Hell, to get enough force to bend these, you'd bend or break the mounting hardware or strut tower first.

I'm not sure, probably only 2. I'll let you know when it arrives here.

At least someone is paying attention.

Warned. I told you not to post in here again.
I could care less if the pictures somehow magically didn't show up on your PC, they did on everyone else's. Reading would still have told you that the new brackets went somewhere else.

I'm not producing anything. The companies that make the product produce them, engineer them, build them. I'll let you know when you can start TELLING me what I better do. FACT, these already "resist" what they were designed to be put through, as these are on many cars with much more HP, for years now.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>You do know there is more than one type of silver-colored metal on earth? Even if it IS steel, what kind of steel is it?</div>
I don't know, nor do I care. Not my job. Those are the standard brackets from the company that makes them smart ass. Those are powdercoated, so they could be anything under there. Again, they are working fine on other cars with more HP than you'll ever put out, so there's no worries. These new brackets meet the design standards put out by the production company, and that's enough for me. I've taken enough engineering design classes to know enough, and none of it matters here. This isn't for a formula one race car. Nor is it for YOUR car.
This is all off topic though.

Of course you aren't, there IS no argument. If you had read, even as I posted above, these were just an inital fit for the damper. The next design was to be over to bolts there, as it says in the FIRST POST IN THE THREAD.

No.

I doubt the material matters that much too.. It is a shock absorber after all, it's not a steel bar or something. If at any point you have a lot of force on it, the dampener will probably compress/extend way before any piece of metal or bolt could possibly get damaged.
I am not off-topic. Why would I not be able to post in a thread if my comments are related to it? You are just abusing your authority. You can't just say ''don't post in this thread''. As far as I know I have been talking about these dampers the whole time. These might fit my car aswell. We have similar if not the same side motor mount bolt pattern, and the same strut bolt pattern aswell, and I wouldn't be surprised if these wouldn't just bolt into the XD's engine bay.
If anything, the fact that I am thinking outside of the tiburon might even help sell more of these units.

Yes, you are off topic.
1. I told you not to post here again. You still did so.
2. This topic is about R&D for these kits, for KFX performance, for the RD Tiburon, not the XD Elantra.
3. No where in this thread was advise asked for or needed. This thread was to show the progress on the mounts, not to debate the quality of different metals.
4. I'm not abusing any authority, I'm doing my job. I know what I'm doing, you do not. You can't read a thread fully, so you have no place to post anything in here, because you can't read and understand. You are coming in here and worrying folks that may buy this that the brackets aren't properly designed and the like. Worry about it when they are made for your car.
5. I CAN say not to post in this thread. Look at my title. I'm an administrator here. That particularly means that you do NOT tell me what to do or how I should do things, if I didn't ask for advise. This also means that what I say goes.
6. You've been ARGUING about a setup we are NOT using. You've been arguing things that don't matter, about a trial run setup. You did NOT read or understand what's going on.
7. they'll fit ANY car. I've got both sizes, as the pictures show, and I've got plenty of cars to test them on. INcluding a XD. I was planning on doing that one next, and already contacted ABQElantra about it. If I need, or WANT your help, I will ask you. Guess what? I do NOT need or WANT your help. Of course I'm going to develop for what I have, and what my passion is, before any others, but all the available Mobis related models will eventually be developed for. Of course we will develop next for the cars that will sell the most. It may be quite awhile till the XD's get hit.
It's kind of neat how some folks here think I have no practical experience in these matters. I've brought some good parts to us, some new vendors, and lots of new ideas. I've been doing this for what, 6 years now? I think I've somewhat got it down.
No moree offtopic.gif folks. Damn I hate having to go off.

^^ Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see these latest pictures. It's driving me nuts. I'm about 20 hours into a 24 hour duty right now so I havn't been able to see them yet.
