post a pic of how your dampener looks like right now mwood.

Tommy had his adjusted for the length improperly. you can see how his was in the pic of his engine bay on this months COTM thread. i basically took it all apart and made sure that both ends were tightened down completely.

it may take taking it apart completely to make sure you have everything tight, but it is worth it in the end. we did notice that the distance between the two mounting holes on both brackets was a full 1/2" on tom's RD1 campared to REDZ RD2. i compared the brackets and they were completely the same.

you mainly want to make sure that you make the adjustment on the hyman joint with the threaded end. post a pic.

is the distance between the mouting holes 7 inches?

take off the weighted OEM balancer. you dont need it anymore and you might not have enough thread holding the campener bracket on.

why i ask about the distance is because tibbytib's was 7.5" and his brackets were exactly like REDZ's, weird.

make sure the front hyman bar is secured to the bolt on the inside. that one needs to be as tight as possible. adjustment goes on the backside but i know you are smart enough to figure that out.

You can just completely remove that? What is that balancer even for?

No issues here still, mine makes a bit of noise at certain RPM's, but other than that, the only noise I get is in reverse.

Guess I'll have to do some DIY's with pics and stuff.

Since Lee fixed mine, its been solid as a rock. Lee or Jer, you guys should definitely do a DIY on it just so people dont get confused. Even though you guys think its easy, I had trouble with mine, and I think I am at least a little mechanically inclined. cool.gif It would be nice for members and future purchase'ee's to see exactly how it goes on and exactly how to adjust it properly.

One of the bolts that hold the damper/balancer down fell out today.. The plastic threaded piece on the damper loosened itself, and now the damper isn't really doing anything.

Could someone do a little pseudo DIY maybe even just right in this thread?
Do you need that balancer piece?
Do you need to get longer bolts?
Is the damper supposed to be able to wiggle/rotate sideways, or do you have to adjust it somehow?
What are the extra bushings that were in the package used for?
