can someone post their experiences with them, and which ones ACTUALLY work - one that's good for all radar detection, lasers, and have minimal false alarms. also the price. i want to buy a nice one, im sick of this crappy cobra.

I have a cobra somethin and it works great. was their top model when i got it, theres prob better ones now. Also "one that's good for all radar detection, lasers, and have minimal false alarms." nothing, i repeat NOTHING detects laser until your phucked. u cant detect it from them shooting other cars. theres a study some people did on the internet somewhere, ill look for it again. My cobra has minimal falses too (cept damn grocery stores set it off...)

well, i guess mine must work good too then. only thing is, doesn't every damn cop use laser nowadays?

joshuwa i put mine in the exact same spot, but i hard wired mine straight to the ignition wire.

i actually just figured out an awesome feature with my radar detector. i can program it to turn sound off below a certain rpm

you have to be careful with that feature if you have a stick. it you hold in the clutch or just drop your car to neutral, it will make the detecor think that you are going slow even though you may not be. i've been pulled over because of that. i turned the feature off as soon as the cop left.

i think the key to finding one that works, is getting one that detects laser. that's what most cops use now anyway.

actually most cops use ka band radars. lazers are very tempremental, they cannot be used while moving and the get interfered with alot more by dust, rain, etc. also the range is alot shorter so if your radar detector does pick one up, you'd better pray it's barley out of range.

i had a cobra once. it always seemed to go off when it was too late. the cop would be 20 feet in front of me before the detector would start beeping.

yeah, but when do you hold in the clutch or stick it in nuetral when you are going fast? there is no reason for it.
