Radar Detectors
can someone post their experiences with them, and which ones ACTUALLY work - one that's good for all radar detection, lasers, and have minimal false alarms. also the price. i want to buy a nice one, im sick of this crappy cobra.
I have a Cobra or something, my dad got it for me for x-mas
In my opinion it helps alot because when poliecs try to catch you, speed traps the hide so you can only know if they shoot the person in front of you, can be way up there to and it will go crazy
It does help smile.gif

Go with passport 8500 X50 or solo s2. They are basically the same thing, but solo is cordless and of course a little more expensieve.
My gf got my solo for me for $292 off ebay. 8500 are $20-30 cheaper.
Both of them known to work very well and I have experienced both! They are super amazing!!!

lol, those officers are so funny..
i look at it this way, let's assume what they're saying is true, that they only have it turned on for a split second to gun someone. the thing is, they gun almost every car, so if you are 3 miles away with a radar detector, you have 3 miles for them to gun ANYONE and your thing will go off, then you slow down and avoid a ticket.

Here is a pic of where I keep mine:

I cut the cord so its shorter, and it leads down the edge of the dash, right to the fuse box where I have it hard-wired. I cut a notch in the fuse door so it sits in neatly. No cord in sight laugh.gif
Its nice and out of view, and it can "see" frontwards and backwards. It's a 'whistler', and works really, really well. Occasionally it will go off for apparently no reason out in the middle of nowhere, but it's generally pretty accurate.
