Latest mod: Carbon Fibre cold air intake + enlarged feed into stock airbox + k&n drop in filter. Definately louder induction noise! i love it. Has improved acceleration, response.

Yeah well i went this intake for various reasons.
1.If i removed resonator and cold air duct, fair enough i would be recieving more airflow but the air woud be warm and less dense.
2.Due to the CF air intake the air i recieved is cooler and more dense compared with the above mentioned method.
3.Running an AEM air induction with a pod filter just isn't an option here in Australia. Running an exposed pod is defectable and i really don't want the troubles of that and having to go get my car cleared.
4.The CF looks nice in the engine bay and sits nicely.

You could have a cai and keep the stock parts to get cleared. The cai will be much better more power and it will be sounding really nice. fing02.gif

I had a resonater off and pipe down to under the car facing foward. Got my AEM cai and it was amzingly better

I understand the way a intake works, but there comes a point to where MORE air is better than COOLER air.

Nah sorry that just isn't something i want to do. I don't want to get defected every time i go driving only to have to fork out money each time to get the car passed and have to switch between the aem and stock setup.

Im happy with my purchase. Can definately feel an improvement and i love the sound. Heaps deeper and just sounds like its got heaps bigger balls. As far as im concerned this setup will flow more than enough for the extent i am modifying my RD2. I'm not going all out, i'll leave that for a performance orientated vehicle straight outta the factory.

people forget... down there is a lot of California.. the police can pop your hood at any time and look for "defects" including not having any washerfluid in the reseviour.

Just out of curiosity.. have you trimmed the bonnet seal yet? On the stock Rd1, the stock intake "Scoop" sits an inch or two behind the front seal.. stopping ALL sources of cooler air into the intake.

As for me.. my Transmission for my spider came today... and it's pretty. Now all I need to do is box out the driveshaft tunnel to fit the tail of it..

And this is the all important "Abarth Shift Extension" that puts the shifter close to hand in near the stock location.

I haven't trimmed anything. I'm not sure what you mean by bonnet seal... you referring to the rubber seals that ensure the bonnet sits nice and flush confused.gif ? I've just got the RD2 vent-cutout feeding the air into the intake.
