Just noticed this thread. I used to live down under, in Carlingford, Sydney and in Melbourne with my uncle for a couple of years. Even went to school there.

People there are very concerned about the law because:

1. It is strict
2. It is well enforced (much more so than here).

That being said, if the law only requires you to have a boxed filter, I don't see how removing the resonator , replacing the piping and perforating the stock box can hurt?

That's just me though!

Mad-machine apparently the reason why you can't have an exposed pod is because if the oil element is put in hot areas there is the chance of blow back... You may not think it will happen... But you can quite easily back fire through the intake and there is a slight chance the of a fire in the engine bay.

Obviously if your running an AEM intake where its not collecting air from the engine bay then you shouldn't have this problem, but to cops an exposed filter element is just that.

I understand your comments on the stock part of the intake guys. I may look into replacing the stock plastic piping with something less restrictive.

Just got myself an SR 4-2-1 header and MBRP exhaust w/ high flow cat. I got them used so I'll be cleaning them up, wrapping the header, and installing them with my new XD intake cam wink1.gif .

I just installed a pair of of FIAMM Freeway Blaster horns, high and low. They bolted right up to the stock location with no problem. Connected my alarm's horn honk to them as well. I can't wait for an excuse to honk at someone. cool.gif

I installed some air horns I bought off a friend for 10 bucks! Best $10 i've spent! No one would expect such a loud noise from a little car. I also got a reverse beeper. Friend bought it for me as a joke but it's really on the car.

Yeah, they seem like the best for the money and ease of install. I seriously considered getting real air horns, but those are bulky, and these should be more than enough to make people listen, unlike the timid stock horns. Speaking of making people listen, check out the videos at hornblasters.com. So wrong, yet so hilarious.

Sorry, I gotta throw the ricer and ese` card at the air horns. That's just straight up ghetto.

Now a 132DB Electric horn.

I recently installed a CAI (no painted pics yet), painted the spark cover I bought from Redz and the exhaust shield yellow. I had the strut bar installed for a while (I need another sensor bracket, mine broke mad.gif )

The broken flexpipe is 100% stock. It sounds like a pissed off early 80's corolla.

Interior door handle LEDs (just the front doors).

cbehage's Kspec tinted taillights.

EDIT: Since we're on a horn topic, I will soon install an ooga horn on the Elantra. LOL
