Megasquirt help
we have a waste spark setup. which means 1-4 and 2-3 spark every other time. Its called a waste spark because even on the exhaust stroke it still fires on that cylinder. Yes my spark map is a little on the retarded side . you should be around 32 degrees advanced at wot and high load.
Very much usefull information here.. I actually haven't hooked up the MS to the car yet. I'm trying to get all the theoretical stuff in place first.
But 32 degress max? The megamanual says 26 degress max for a four valve cylinder without turbo.. and that over 3000rpm, it should be this number because of the turbulence in the chamber (?)
I have some wiring issues.. so the original setup is a so called waste spark system, which means that it fires at to sylinders at a time. Therefor it's two signal cables running from the ECU to the coil. However, MS2 only got one ignition signal out.. how do I solve this?
Also, do I just connect the PMW idle control to the FIdle pin? And we do nor got a stepper IAC, so I don't have to worry about that?
At last.. the spark triggering. Do i only use the crankshaft position sensor for this task (the original ECU use both crank and cam sensors). If so, do anyone got the right trigger values for this car?
Yeah, I'm nOOb
but hopefully learning alot from this..
