hey thanks guys... i really needed your help. you don't know how saddened i am right now. not many people are supporting me. i feel like i messed up the car or something ever since that motoria refund and tim's exhaust went bad, then that shop welded the catalytic converter to the back after the glasspack...
the 02 sensors are working and are rewired the thing is it hasn't been giving me this kinds of problems for one year. the first sign there was some problem was when the car stalled once while driving back from florida. i'm going to be leaving my car in VA for a while until my guy can hook me up with a new computer and a redone exhaust...
i feel like i need my skateboard back... patreezy. i need some luck here...
1. There's a clamp around it, but not at the end. I'll def put another one at the end though.
2. We used a special copper gasket sealant that hardens after a bad gasket leak before. this stuff works great and hasn't leaked anywhere since! my friend uses the stuff on his mustang V8.
3. Haha that plastic bag is because the CAI is new. I didn't want to scratch it up when I was putting it in.
4. Yeah it's a little bit angled but that's because of the stupid automatic trans being in the way and also because the F2 bumper has a bend in it so there's no room for the filter. It's the best I could get it to fit without bending the filter.
5. I don't know why there's a hose clamp there.

Bro, this is why you need to do ALL of your own work. Looking at those pics, I can't imagine half the problems you are having.
While the o2 sensors may WORK, you have plenty of miles on your car and they DO go bad.
I'd start by cleaning your sensors and checking for exhaust leaks. Then start looking for shorts in the wiring.

Honey fried here is what I think
Ok 1st I don't think the location of the cat would be a problem mine is pretty far back so don't see that being a issue
2nd it seems almost like your car isn't gettin the power it needs while at idle get a battery and alt scan from autozone its a good free start to narrowing it down
3rd replace the ecu see if it help
4th is that the only code? Get it scanned again
5th ill see if I can grab you some sensors from the yard tomorrow (crank tps and ill see about a maf) those seem to be common failures also let me know and ill grab a ecu for you...I'm goin tomorow so lemme know asap little sensors I get fo free but the ecu will cost ya (plus shippin)
6th you still have no nipples

Don't you think replacing the ECU is the LAST thing he should do? How often does an ECU go bad...That's like a last resort option, because the chances of that being the problem are very slim IMO.
why is your IAC set up installed that way? that could easily be your problem. why didnt u just hook it up at the top like stock, and just run a longer return looped to the underside like i explained in the 1st HOW TO: i wrote up?? that just screams problems from the pics......

Or just run it the way I did. Looks clean, neat, and you can't see the hoses at all. Not to mention no binding, and plenty of room for everything.

looked these up for you on alldata for a hyundai for you
P1613 MIL Request signal circuit high input componet - Mil-on request line (have no idea what that means)
P0422 Manifold catalyst efficiency below threshold Component - catalyst
edit: btw MIL is Malfunction Indicator Lamp
here you go, you can thank me later!

supercow thanks that helps BIGTIME. holy sh*t look at the second module!! that P0422 code is coming from the evaporation cannister!!!! this might be the problem all along! it might not even be from the catalytic converter or the computer at fault.
i'm so confused at this point. i know my O2 sensors are working and I know the cat shouldn't be the problem. but from what supercow posted that evap cannister is a bigger deal than i thought it to be.
david, thank you for all of your support! i've got you as my backup plan. if it comes down to it, i'll even call you. it's getting power, new battery and alternator, spark plugs and wires. but none of that complies with the error codes. haha my nipples just deflated again.
zoned, if i were to describe this situation, it would be sort of like hot girlfriend having seizures. aw mang. last thing i would want to replace would be her brain.
monox, it was to be a temporary setup until i made a nice bracket for it. but it's tightly snug next to the airram and my hands cannot get to it. i haven't felt like making a bracket. i don't think that could be a problem leading to the ECM could it? it would say the pressure in the engine is wrong if that were the case. i wish i had never touched it to begin with...

aw thanks supercow!! yeah i love my car too much to just give up.
ok i'm surprised the dealer didn't notice my evap cannister had been moved!! it's right there next to the CAI and they didn't even say anything about it.
apparently P0422 means catalyst not present and/or small leakage in evap hoses. i know for a fact it's the evap cannister, the way i relocated it something is always wrong with that. but i doubt that has anything to do with the computer cose P1613
so for now I will only worry over P1613 and try to determine the cause of that. my sister said the same thing happened on her 1998 Tiburon and they could never fix it. but she could not remember because it was a long time ago.
