dude, i've been suggesting this for like 9 months now, and still don't have a clear answer as to why you won't even TRY it:
remove the AEM
hook the evap up like STOCK
see if it makes any problems go away
if it doesn't, at least you can eliminate it as the cause of any problems and QUIT WORRYING about it
seriously this is like an ongoing problem of the past year with your car, take the 1 hour of time to try this and see if the evap is the cause or not.

REDZ, think we found it! your extended O2 sensors are wired wrong. who extentended them, or did you extend them? have them corrected immediately. the problem is a short circuit which causes the computer to turn off.
hyundai mechanics didn't think to look at the O2 wiring so they overlooked it just like your mechanics might have.
that also might explain why we were running rich. that also might explain my doubts with my evap connection hence the same code. crazy.gif
problem is solved.

Conclusion: hmm, ok check your battery terminals for me and see if they aren't shelled. Funny ass thing happened to my car. My mechanic couldn't find one single problem with my car, even my O2 sensors that I relocated were working perfectly.
So he checks everything right down to opening the gas tank. Couldn't find a thing wrong with it or the sensors. So me and my friend are driving and the sh*t happens again, this time with big trucks honking behind me. No power, car wouldn't even start up, white smoke came out of the hood. At this point, I'm like F*CK!
Car started back up and we drove it dangerously through traffic back to my mechanics. The battery terminal + was melted a little and the insulent was burned. What happened was the battery terminal was hitting the cold air intake and when the aluminum touched the negative terminal it would short the computer. We fastened the battery down away from the terminal and he moved the clamp away from the intake.
Started the car back up, no CEL, no problems. The reason this had happened was because although the 3'' AEM CAI fits the automatic transmissions, it isn't a perfect fit because it hits the transmission and keeps the bend close to the battery tray.
Check your terminals and make sure the left one isn't hitting your intake. Other than that, it turned out to be a lousy stupid problem that had us all stumped.

^ laugh.gif ^ haha stupid isn't it?
if something else happens, i'll tell you right here. in the meantime, good luck and try and get it repaired as soon as you can. i can't think of one thing it could be. i had a wierd situation my eye looked over.

Wow, my thread from 2 years ago haha... I didn't want to interrupt the other thread so I brought my old one back up.
DTN, don't feel like you have to devote your time into this but pin 61 (TCM, MIL) is grounded. Code shows up after reset. There must be somekind of a short somewhere from the CAI hitting the battery terminal back in the Automatic in '06 (before the swap).
I will try to follow the procedure on the diagram with my voltmeter, but so far I'm pretty astounded that the code still persists even with the wire cut and grounded.
