Just a thought. I notice several people able to get 1.8 Cams from their local junkyard (myself included). Since the exhaust cams are the same between the 1.8/2.0 (at least that is what I thought), maybe some members would be willing to pick up extra cams for this project. I will be going to the junkyard to get an exhaust cam so that my car is not down while getting the re-grind done (Since I have the 1.8 cam installed, I have my original 2.0 intake cam ready and waiting). When I do decide to get this done, I will make a post for those needing exhaust cams. Extra 2.0 intake cams might be a possibility too, although there are many more 1.8L Elantra's than 2.0L Tiburons in my junkyard.

Redz is a busy man with school and all. He is trying to get this done a.s.a.p. as far as I know. He has talked to the dyno place and got the prices and just needs the time in his schedule to get it done and over with.

Me too. The Hyundai dealer kept ordering the wrong Oil Seal for the exhaust cam, it's a MUST have part when you swap cams, or so the manual says. I've got it now, so hopefully, this weekend. Starting on Friday.

GOOD NEWS FIRST!

1. Got the Before Dyno. Not too bad...

The dyno guys have dyno'd several other Tibs before and really liked mine. They were very impressed by the consistancy of the runs, and the quality of the parts on the car.

2. Cams are installed!!!

3. Cams work great!!!

4. Car runs great!!!

5. NO CEL's!!!

Hell, it didn't even idle bad after I reset my ECU.

BAD NEWS!!!

1. ABQElantra helped me. He's a great guy, but had stuff on his mind today and was late to the festival of cam swap, so we missed our afternoon AFTER dyno appointment. Hopefully I can get it done on Monday, if not, Tuesday.

2. I think I may have installed the cams a bit off, so the timing is retarded. I'm trying to find out for sure, but it could be that everything is fine and I just have to get used to these suckas.

Anyone got some TIming advise for me?

What mods were installed when you did the before dyno?

And so people don't get confused and think the numbers are low, what would the relation to that dyno be for a normal person not living at 1 kagillion feet above sea level? nana.gif

Are you expecting a big power increase from these cams without any tuning? What does it FEEL like?
