If you put the MAF on the charge piping, after the BOV, venting to atmo or recirculating will be ok.. If you put the MAF on the intake, you should recirculate to somewhere after the MAF

yeah we already built the charge piping asuming the maf could just go on the intake poipe of the turbo..i wanted to do a blowthrough setup, but i was concered about maf sensor life with the ebay turbo oil seals being how they are.

looks like we'll be building an intake pipe..

i figure with the AEM fic i could fool the maf voltage as long as i traced where it goes when we let off throttle..i would just find that spot..assuming its not in a normalt "driving' area, andf trick the maf voltage until the car no longer stalls out or runs rich in that region. since the aem has that caspability.. but that will proabbly take longer then doing a intake pipe..

okay next question.

two ports ont he valve cover..we have one going from intake manifold into the valve cover still..and the other was venting to atmo..however thats more unmetered air...so i was thinking...oh lets just plug it off...howveer,,,then im afraid crankcase presur wewill accuumulate dangerously..i dont wana run it on the intake pipe, i mean i guess we could but thats ugly. Maybe its the only option for now?

what is there to know about catch can setups for these cars?

you cant exactly weld an an fitting on here plastic valve cover lol. what should we build?

compensating the MAF signal is possible maybe, but fairly hard, i would just recirculate to the intake

for the PCV, add a check valve between the PCV valve and the intake manifold to prevent boost from entering the crankcase

don't worry about unmetered air, it will be very little (PCV valve limits the amount of air going through it); I routed my PCV breather to the intake because I could smell it sometimes. I posted some pics of the catch cans and routing in my turbo kit review thread the other day (SOCKS is selling those cans, he has check valves also). Most of the fumes will come through the PCV line (at part throttle), so I wouldn't worry about a lot of oil through the intake

We made an intake pipe and got the car all done yesterday!

I got a few shots before i drove it home.. i need to clean up the engine bay big time so ill get nicer pics when im all done with it! But heres a few shots anyways

Everything is done but the injectors and tuning so im able to drive it without boosing it.. just making sure everything worked right before changing the injectors!

Dump tube and exhaust all done

Haha, tuning is the fun part, you'll enjoy that.

The Hyundai ECU is a worthy opponent to try to tune around, it's a smart one.

Nah it doesnt hang down any farther than the exhaust... The pic is from a weird angle.. Ive only ever bottomed out the car on the front lip.. its only lowered about 1/2 an inch!
