she used nut bolt combo, worked quite well.

if you seen these zip tie style things that came with it you would understand how they sag..they dont bite the notches like a regular zip tie does.

I got the flange cut locally on a CNC. pm me if you want one, i can see what we can get him to make them for.

to yamaha.. theres a website that sells the head flange in mild steel for like 65$. forgot the name of it. ill talk to david tonight, and let you know.

yeah, those 'zip ties' are hit and miss. i had a couple fans that they 'sagged' on and some worked real well.

you should post up some pics of the progress on the project.

Ill have to get some pics tonight! the fans are installed now and my nut/bolts worked great.. kinda a pain the the ass to get on there but the little zip tie things were garbage.

Injectors were supposed to arrive yesterday after Luc called and b****ed about the 87$ brokerage fee they tried to pull.. got the fee voided and they should be sitting at the door by now!

On another note.. Something is majorly killing my battery... when i hooked up the AEM i tapped into a wire that was "suposed" to be and ignition on/off.. but i think the AEM is being constantly powered and is sucking my battery dry. Its my fault for not checking the wire.. but im gonna have to find another wire to tap into now. I'm "borrowing" my soldering station from work again this weekend.

on those slim fan kits..they come with little coil springs...

its my understanding that the fan is to sit flush with the rad, as to not pull in any surrounding engine bay hot air, and instead make sure it pulls it all through the rad.

meliss has installed hers with the spring touching the rad then the fan on top of the springs, leaving 1/8th inch gaps between the fan and the rad.

personally i think the springs should be removed..as to make the fan flush with the rad.

can you give give some suggestions on this?

The flexalites come with a shroud and a gasket to completely seal to the radiator, and it sitsflush as hell once it's all in place. Try it both ways and see what works better.

I doubt that a little space between the fan and rad affects anything

If I remember right, I have my SMT-6 wired into pin #58 for an on/off 12v supply.

^^ Yeah thats not an issue like i thought, it was just that the car had been sitting and i only drove it a little, not enough to fully charge the battery so it kept dying when it sat for a couple days.. Its not an issue anymore tho the battery is fully charged and good to go.

I held the fan tight to the rad and spun the blades with my finger and it seemed to have caught some friction from the rad. I dont wanna take the chance of shredding the blades, and dont think the little gap that i have is gonna be a problem...if it is, ill tighten them up some more and make the gap a bit smaller.
