Tibchic's Turbo Project! *work In Progress*
slim fans off ebay are tiny.. and they push/pull just as much air as the FALS, they just don't have a shroud.
if you want the pretty shroud, and that worried about overheating, FALS are the way to go, but the slim ebay fans will suffice in any situation and are a fraction of the cost.
fine, ill respect the other sex, and hump your leg Lee. laugh.gif laugh.gif

I dunno, I heard a lot of complaints about the cheap ebay fans, especially when Tim was selling them. My FAL's have been fantastic, and provide even cooling. Not to mention, they look like they were made for our car, and seal perfectly.
It's all up to you of course, but if you are doing it right, why cheap out?

Im not looking for anything pretty.. just has to do its job.. i didnt know it was going to be an issue! The original turbo i was goin to go with didnt end up working out and i ended up having to get an ebay one (go china bob!!) and its pretty big compared to the T28 that was in the original plan.
which turbo did you end up getting, and from which dealer on ebay?
for the fans. pick up some of these, or even 2 12", better to just replace both stock fans since these flow a butt load more.
2 10" fans 1550cfm a piece
the seller is great to deal with, and the fan quality is real nice. i used the same fans on my tiburon, with no issues for 2 years. i also have some friends that use the same style. you can use them as pusher (or puller style to keep more space from turbo to fans)
puller style, you reverse the blade i believe, and just mount them on the other side of the radiator.

i think i got the turbo from cxmotorsports (cxracing), but i cant find it in my ebay anymore.
We'll probably try getting those slim fans, but we'll go with 12" fans i think, if she can fit them..
can she fit dual 12" ones? i guess we could perhaps configure one side (drivers side ) as pull and passenger side as push, so it clears turbo...i have to look at it more closely.

those turbos are actually made real well. i have a couple people that opted to use them in their kits. interested to see how they hold up for the price.
i have pics in my Photobucket taking the turbo apart to compare it to a garrett. i didnt crack open the CHRA or remove the wheels/shaft, but it was really nice looking compared to the garrett. same amount of shaft play as a stock garrett (almost none) good castings, nice lookin wheels, etc.
good luck with that turbo, and let me know how it holds up to the first few runs if ya wouldnt mind.
is it the .60 comp AR turbo that you got?
you can fit dual 12" fans on the stock radiator.

We ship everything to a Maine address and then drive 1 hour to go down and pick things up, then drive them thru the border to avoid big brokerage and shipping fees.
