its only the compressor that is just about touching her passenger side fan, so i dont think it will melt..im more worries about the engine rocking and annihilating the fan lol. Those are good ideas about the slim fan, and making it a push fan..we'll look in to that thanks.

how could she have made a plug and play harness for it? she would have to find a male to female harness end , where do you get those to fit?

She did a great job on the soldering, it started right up!! I was worried after reading everyone else's posts about the fic wiring..but it worked out great.

^ Yes, her soldering looks great!

A plug and play harness can be made by getting a plug from an ECU and a harness plug from a parted-out car, and just solder all ECU wires from one plug to the other, I did that as well, here's some pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/radu.rd2/AEMFIC#

You can consider also an engine damper to keep the engine from rocking too much.

You can grind some of the excess material off of the fan housing (not the blades) if necessary. Or, if you are daring, grind a little material off of the turbo housing itself. I ended up doing a bit of both on mine.

If you have clearance issues on the driver's side for the cold-side piping, you can also run another A/C fan instead of the main fan - I never had problems cooling in 95 degree weather when I had done that. Back to the stock configuration now though.

Exactly like radu said, You find an ecu and the wire side plug for it in a junker tib and take the ecu apart and get the plug from it. Then you just wire pin to pin and then tap and intercept those wires
That way if you ever want to go back to stock wiring you just take out the harness and you have no cut wires

mine was a little shorter from plug to plug but it worked. I also opted to replace every wire instead of using the stock ones. Just left about an inch and a half of the stock wires to use for the extension.

That just seems like alot of unecessary work to me :S lol..It really wasnt hard to install it at all ... and theres a bypass plug so that u can run the car stock without hooking into the AEM.. if i ever need to run without it i just put the little bypass plug in!

And if you want to sell the car again you don't have to explain why there is extra wires hanging up there or that they had been cut in the first place.

no need to spend 200+ on FAL fans when you can get 2 12" fans to do pretty much the same job for 1/4 of the price.

The FALs are very tiny and leave room for the turbo though. Also, RED ZMAN said that 1 FAL pushes twice as much air as a stock fan. If I had more of a budget when I was rebuilding my car, I would have gone with them because it would have been an A/C upgrade as well.
