thanks dmdicks, we are AT sea level here in new brunswick.

And thanks guys for info about the maf voltage, right now it appears that its not leaning out, it might when we up the boost.

I'm probably getting melissa a MBC here ina few days..

I know the timing retard is rediculously safe for 5 psi..but i just don't want to go crazy until we get the obd2 scanner and get rid of that CEL.

Thanks for all the comments and help everyone!!

...its still no honda though tongue.gif

Does anyone know why my BOV wouldnt be working?

Weve tried setting it really loose.. and then really tight.. and somewhere in the middle... but its still not working 02.gif

We can take it off and move it by hand so its not stuck or seized or anything.. Ive been reading thru forums and stuff trying to figure out what it could be.. someone mentionned that i have to hook a vaccum line to the bottom nipple on the valve for low boost settings? im only running 5psi right now.. and gettin mad compressor surge.. i dont wanna ruin the turbo :S

Yes.. there is a vaccum line.. on the top nipple.. its connected to a source off the valve cover.. but there are 2 nipples and as far as we knew we only had to connect the top one..

its the greddy type s knock off, it has a nipple on top and a nipple on the bottom.

most people just leave the bottom nipple not hooked up and only run a vaccum line tot he top.

I switched the vaccum source for the top nipple to a larger source( the larger nipple off the intake manifold that goes to the valve cover), no change.
Loosened the tension on the spring via the adjuster, to all the way loose, still surged. all the way tight, still surged. in the middle still surged. we'll probably try this second vaccum fitting out.

valve cover? i hope you mean intake manifold haha
well try the other nipple then, depends on the BOV design which you need to use i think

edit: just saw your post elite, ya should be top nipple on that one..

is it THIS knockoff?

if so, i have it on my car, and use it in my turbo kits and SRT-4 FMIC kits..

they use TWO springs in the diaphram. I took the lesser pressured spring out, and the BOV works great. I believe they over compensate, so the BOV will hold more boost for people wanting to run HIGH pressure. with the two springs, it'll keep the BOV from opening under say... 30psi. take out one spring, and you wont have any issues.
