Well I have decided to turbo my car! I pretty much have it where i want it cosmetically and now its time to make it a little more fun to drive!

I have my bf and a few good friends who are donating alot of time and knowlege which is helping me alot cuz I wouldnt be able to do this without them! I dont know too too much about all of this but i am learning as i go and its going good so far!!

I have all of the major stuff already and the build will start to pick up speed here soon!

So far I have:
Intercooler
AEM F/IC for engine management (Installed)
T3/T4 turbo
Intercooler (installed) piping and BOV
Turbo manifold (Friend is doing the welding/fabrication) its tacked together right now
Boost guage + boost controller

Were not sure exactly how much power this will make but an estimate is around 250WHP which i would be happy with!!

PICS laugh.gif

Car is really dirty right now lol :S

AEM FIC INSTALL
I followed instructions i found in a thread in this section, along side the actual AEM instructions and everything went great!! The colors on the diagram that i got didnt match any of my wires but all the signals matched the right pins.
Hardest part was getting the ECU out and taken apart, other then that im pretty small and was able to sit pretty confortably in the front (with the seat taken out) and do the soldering.( which is what i do for a living).

A few pics!

Gettin ready to snip the first wire!

Some intercepts

Tapping the grounds

About half done!

I didnt take any more pics after that lol.. i just was getting anxious to get it back together so i could get it started up. I plugged the USB cable in the the AEM and tucked it up under the stearing column so that i just have to reach under and grab the USB end to plug the laptop in.

Ill have to take pics of the turbo tonight.. i dont have any yet

EDIT - typo in the title :S.. i cant edit it? Mods? change prject to Project pls!

Looking good so far

I would kill to be able to be short enough to get under there to solder. My poor back dreads whenever I have to get under there. Being 6'2" has its disadvantages sometimes.

Having wiring an SAFC II into my automatic tib I knew it was a pain in the but. The FIC Had more wires to connect so I opted to make my own pnp harness. Made it so much easier to solder everything at my desk and then go out and just plug it in lol.

Im hoping by the end of may!
I dont know how were gonna get the flange on the manifold in the right spot.. we fit the turbo on last nite and it barely fits :S its just about touching the rad fan, so we have to get that flange absolutly perfect :S and we have to take the manifold to my buddy's place to get welded cuz i cant bring the car there..

^ do you have a slim fan? If no, you can free up some space, get something like this, they flow way more than stock anyway:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2X-9-1550-C...sQ5fAccessories

If still not enough space, you can set the pass-side one as a pusher-fan, it might fit between AC condenser and radiator, not 100% sure about that. If not, it might fit in front of the condenser.

If still not enough space, you can get a half-core radiator smile.gif

Even if the turbo fits, if it's too close to the fan, it will probably melt it in time; and if the turbo's too close to the radiator you might have overheating problems.
