The I4 motors in all the Tibs are generally the same. If you want the looks of the new Tib, you're gonna pay a lot more and have less to spend on building the motor afterwards. It is also a lot heavier. 15k won't get you far.
Now, if you want an all out drag car, then a 97-01 is gonna be cheap (4-8k), and be a lot lighter. For 15k, if you know where to spend it, then you could have an 11 second car, or maybe faster.

when you say new tiburon, you mean 05+ or 03-05 gt??? there are different engines??
same engines in 03-05. 05 just has a nice fece lift and looks better IMO.

IMO the new engines are all crap, with an RD you start at 140ish with the beta II you start at 128 in the I4 and 171 with the v6 an RD can be at 170s with 2 mods. GKs are popular and more mainstream, most people like the gks. The better engines are in the RDs They also have more R&D time into them so you have a better knowledge base to ask guys for help. Most of the guys here have had their tibs for 6+ years now... so they know what the hell they're doing. If you want a fast tib get an RD... If you want to have a pretty car... GKs have more for you
Come on man. While the delta isn't the best engine in the world, it's far better than any beta. 2 more cylinders and more displacement!
Beta 2 have 135hp.
You can just get older tiburon for less money and invest more into the engine, but in the end the GK has a higher potential of being reliable and fast at the same time.
Interior in GK is a lot nicer than in any RD, IMO smile.gif

the camaro has turned your brain into mush. displacement does not automatically mean more potential, and i thought you knew that. dont feed the new guys crap. drillsergeant.gif
ill stick with the beta for now, which has a proven 500+whp up on the delta.
Haha. I'm in no means trying to hate on beta and I know that good numbers have been pulled from it, but delta has been worked on by tuners for only 3 years and I believe they are already producing amazing numbers for stock motor.
I remember the time when everyone was saying that delta is so much weaker than beta and it's not worth crap and should never be boosted, but those myth got busted a while ago.
Now back to my argument that the more displacement and more cylinders means more potential. It's possible to make crazy numbers with 1.8 motor and a turbo, but car will surge/lag/sputter/etc. Then take a bigger motor from any car that's already producing 200+hp. Wouldn't it be easier to make the same power that you made with the 1.8 motor? You would need less PSI or less nitrous and there would be less lag and so on. Do you see where I'm going with this?
And when you see those cars that make thousands of horse power, what engines do you think they are using? definitely not 4 cyl and not small displacement ones.

i havent seen a over 400 delta yet. i have heard of a couple deltas running 300+ and blowing up. im by no means saying its not possible, but its a relatively simple equation to get a beta to over 300whp. you just need money.
yes, there is no replacement for displacement. but making a blanket statement that the delta automatically has more potential than the beta just because it has 2 more cylinders and a little bit more displacement to it is flat out wrong. the beta engine has more potential than TONS of v8 engines out there. get a run of the mill v8 engine and add enough boost to make 800+ hp and see if the thing holds together. there are many that will, but many that will explode too.

Wow, OP shows that he shouldn't even be a moderator anymore.
The Delta, though it's been shown to go above 300 WHP now, still BLOWS GOATS compared to the potential of a built Beta.
Fact.
