ugh i dispise the gk (which is the new tib)

if you shop around and do some research you can have a friggin FAST car
hell you might even be happy with 250 hp with that you could take out almost all cars on the road

oh and the new tib is heavier than the old tib

I'd get a new tiburon with a v6 and supercharge it. I believe there is people that put down over 300whp on stock motors with alky injection.

As much as hate to say that delta(v6) sucks ass, it has higher potential than beta and I like the looks of 05+ tiburons a lot.

But on the other hand, you can pick up a 99-00 tib with lots of miles on the engine for $5000, then put the rest into it and you should be able to hit low 13s maybe even get into 12s smile.gif

EDIT: 03-05 tibs are 500lbs heavier than the old tibs. We wight about 2600, they are over 3100.

IMO the new engines are all crap, with an RD you start at 140ish with the beta II you start at 128 in the I4 and 171 with the v6 an RD can be at 170s with 2 mods. GKs are popular and more mainstream, most people like the gks. The better engines are in the RDs They also have more R&D time into them so you have a better knowledge base to ask guys for help. Most of the guys here have had their tibs for 6+ years now... so they know what the hell they're doing. If you want a fast tib get an RD... If you want to have a pretty car... GKs have more for you

Hey Muffin, if you keep double posting and quoting the post right above yours, you will get banned faster than you can say "turbo".
Don't quote the post right above yours, it's enough to put "^^^" simbols or just plain anything and we will understand.
Also, double posting is not allowed here, edit your previous post or wait till someone replys to you before you post again in the same thread. Not that I am a mod or anything, just trying to friendly warn you before you get officially drillsergeant.gif warned.

Doode, while the GK Facelift 05's and up look nice, they are nothing compared to the RD's.

Look around at some modified RD's here and you'll be way more impressed than the modified GK's.

Please, read the site rules and follow them.

alright... thanks for the help.... the rd beta 1(00-01 right?) still looks good though doesnt it? right now i have a nissan sentra and the interior is complete shit. i want something with a semi-sporty interior and i think that the 01's have great exteriors. so basically, i should really go for a 01 tiburon 5 speed? that would be around 10 grand... then the remaining money i could invest in a nice, self built turbo kit... sounds great. alright. IF i were to do this, how long would the engines last? how many miles?

^^^^ last post then i make my choice

RD1 96-99 and RD2 00-02 both have the beta 1 engine.
you can pick up an 01 with fairly low miles for as low as 8... Don't let them talk you into paying more then 9.... just don't do it. HAGGLE MAN HAGGLE!
01s have the circular headlamps and curved hoods. here is a few picks of mine

Yup.

The RD's are 1996-2001, but the 2000-01 have the really sporty looking interiors.

You could pick one up and get a bunch of stuff for it for what you've got saved.
