alright... so i have 15000 lined up for me to buy any car i please. i was looking at tiburons and they seemed to look pretty sporty like and such. now, most of you on this site have the 2001 or 2000 tiburon. I like the 03-05 look better. but the thing is... i wanna go boost and i heard that the beta1 to the beta2 to the beta 2.5 are all wayyyy different. Now, if i were to get a tiburon, which one would it be to boost out of all of them? i know the v6 gt isn't good, but are the new ones any different than the rd's??? with about 5000-6000 dollars dropped into turbos, how much psi could i run at and what kind of whp would i reach. i know how turbos work and such, so dont tell me to read that book. I wanna know this simply because if the options of turboing a hyundai are too hard and parts are scarce, then i would get a different car. Are there any 300+ whp turbo kits out there for that price i listed? thanks.

ps... i heard tiburons are MAD heavy...

well, im looking for an 03-05 to turbo... i looked on other forums and the results seem awesome... my next question is that are all 03-05 have the same 2.0L engine? cause alot of them are only turboing 03's for some reason.

newer tibs have CVVT, which just has to be disabled....

not many guys who are looking to mod a tib buy the i4 first, they buy the v6....

although im making more power than all of the v6 supercharged guys

to back to your question

to properly turbo a i4 tiburon and make it daily driver reliable with all the power i have, ur gonna spend @ least 7k

after u build the kit, buy the dif, get a standalone etc your easily into that territory

^^
Mod Edit: please don't quote the post that is directly above yours
well all the turboed i4's are killin the v6's that ive seen... plus they are cheaper. is it hard to disable a CVVT type engine and does it cost anything extra??? how much whp are you making as a daily driver? and i forgot to add.... so you buy a kit like alpine, then you upgrade all of the parts? i would think that with the alpine you would need a new turbo. what kind of turbo does it come with? what kit did you get?

im daily driven on around 320 WHP

u disable the CVVT by going standalone

the alpine unit isnt even an option if your going to make any power

ur going to have to make the kit yourself

therer is the speedfactor crap... but its very hard to get a consistant product from him....

i can build and install a turbo kit onto another tiburon with a standalone built motor and everything for about 6k....

it would take me about 2-3weeks to fab everything up and have the car tuned and returned to you
