Thinking About Boosting A Tiburon

thing is, if you find a tib with a good body, and interior, and not ALOT of rust with 100,000 miles, and your looking into an extreme turbo kit, youll be rebuilding the motor/trans and hopefully the drivetrain to back that all up, with suspension compnonents to match, so mileage wont really matter if your gonna build the hell out of it anyway.
just look for a cheap tib, with a decent exterior, minor to no rust, no big dents, thatll affect structure, and make sure electrical stuff like that works, cuz it would make it a headache and PITA if it didnt.
for 15,000 you could buy a decent rd, get a really nice boost setup, suspension setup, transmission setup, and very nice setup of an RD. might not look the best but it will be able to obtain what you throw at it, and will be one beast of a car.

Excellent points guys. Find one from FLA with little rust and rebuild the engine to match the power your gonna throw at it.
Remember too that they have a TON of aftermarket support too guys. We have nothing here in North America compared to Korea, and the GK's.
We have 1 T/C kit, and 1 S/C kit, they both suck. The GK's have a few available now, especially with SpeedFactor headed in their direction.
With the 03+ Tiburons being so popular, they are putting up really disappointing numbers. If they just could have sold the F2/Type-R Tiburons over here it would have changed the scene we have now. 02.gif
Muffin, get an RD series, 2000-2001 for the better interior, with little to no rust, with a decent mileage (cheaper) Hell check the For Sale forums, there is prolly one still available there!

There are maybe 1 or 2 Deltas doing 300 HP, all with habitual problems.
The Delta engine is just not as good for boost as the Beta. That's a proven fact and has been for some time. Someone will come in here and talk about how the delta is new, blah blah blah.
It's not. It's been around for what, 4 years now? We've had reports of 2 or 3 engines breaking 300 WHP. Reports. I've seen I belive one set of dyno's showing over 300 WHP, and that's off the same engine that's been blown 3 times to get it there.
Screw that.

i have a question guys.... what are your guys 1/4 mile times.... do you think it would be possible for me to hit around mid 12's or low 13's? what kind of hp would i have to take the tib up to? i really dont know how much torque the car is, but i presume it doesn't have much.

Search this section and drag racing section for Viper's and other boosted member's threads. I believe Viper got into low 12s with slicks.
