Because SAFC is junk and doesn't work right on our cars.
Even for na, na people seem to like it, and I was think ing of getting it soon

So it'd still be better for an NA car too? But is it really as big a deal with NA? Also, if AC is right about it not being street legal, then is it worth it?
Well...for a production car; depends. Will it be a race car in the future? I mean...unless you want to constantly swap out your ECUs from stock to aftermarket.
I know if I had a custom car, I would rather use aftermarket ECUs and get away with the fact that the entire car was registered as a kit car rather than a specific type of car.

You only need the stock ECU if your inspection station plugs into your car. Otherwise, a good tune and cats should pass the sniffer test.
Hyundaicraz said his shop was making an adapter for it, which would allow you to EASILY switch back to the stock ECU when it's time for inspection. Without it, you could still use some type of wire connectors that you can pull out and plug back into the stock ECU. There are several colors on the wiring that would allow you to find the right ones to plug back together.
In either case, it would take less than a couple minutes to swap the standalone back to the stock ECU.
Like I said, the piggyback method with a turbo sucks and damages your motor. I have the SAFC and I can't stand it, which is why I'm trying to find something ASAP!
For those of you that already have a piggyback, you could sell it and have almost half the money for this standalone.

Is there one thing I will benefit from (being NA...nitrous soon) this and not from a piggyback?
I don't care about emissions...
I'm not turbo yet, or even really close and don't see why I should get one before the turbo set-up but it seems like a kick-ass deal.

seems worth it then...
Do you know the price we will be getting these at if 10 jump in?
less than 675? That'd be one helluva deal.
I'd be interested in a Group Buy to help lower the cost (even though I'm not turbo).
Tell me this, would we be getting the standalone's by August ??
I can't afford to wait too long for this one, but otherwise count me in.

You can adjust timing along with the fuel on all levels. It costs the same as the piggyback plus MSD.
Just to be sure everyone understands, the SMT6 can adjust timing too. No need for an additional MSD. The PRS2 is still a very nice standalone though smile.gif
