Dual fuel rail does work. Huge #'s, not sure about that. There still is the problem of maxing out the MAF.

There's none if you can clamp the MAF signal, and you can with the SMT6 wink1.gif And you obviously don't have the problem with a standalone; you'd just use another sensor with it.

^^^^^

Right i forgot about the clamping the signal. I just dont trust the dual fuel rail setup. For the price of the extra injectors, fuel rail, piggy back, etc You could buy the PRS8 and still be in money. And not have to worry about the piggy back.

I guess i just dont trust the SAFC/MSD combo, why? BECAUSE IT DONT WORK!!!

We do have a member of the forums running almost 400 WHP on a streetable RD2.

BTW< it's the Kspec.com sponsored RD.

More info coming, but he's running a standalone.

Again, I'm concerned with Emissions.

I'll have ~300-350hp soon, running with a secondary fuel rail. Just need some time to tune and dyno the car wink1.gif

Dual fuel rail = extra parts/lines in your engine bay. Still have the limitations of the stock ECU. Still paying the SAME, if not more with parts, as the standalone. Why do you think "you know who" got rid of that setup?

SMT = Still using the stock ECU. Still running lean in the midrange. Still can't control timing beyond a certain point. Still costs the same as the standalone after all the options and tuning.

Guys, I was wanting this thread to be more of a count on who would be interested because I thought everyone already knew that you CANNOT BEAT THIS. Not with ANY piggyback. Do you understand that you'll be literally throwing away the 2" MAF and all it's evil problems?

I realize that some of you have to deal with emissions. That is why I told you that you could put in quick disconnects into the wiring, so that you could easily plug the stock ECU back in and swap back your stock injectors. That should take you far less than an hour time to do. Hyundaicruz said his shop is building a harness that would make it a two minute job.

I realize that every other manufacturer out there has some awesome piggyback that allows them to run 400whp, but we don't.
I plan on doing this and buying the standalone next month with or without a GB, so I figured I would help everyone out.

It doesn't look like we'll have 10 people buying this since there are more that are arguing how a piggyback is somehow better. I'll keep checking this post in the next month if somehow more people want to jump in on it, but I'm done arguing the standalone vs. piggyback debate. In my eyes, it's an 8 year old debate in our scene that's never gotten us anywhere.

How much is the harness? I'd be interested depending on the TOTAL price for easy emissions swapping. Also, do you keep A/C functionality?

Everything will work. The standalone controls the motor, the stock ECU controls everything else.

It's up to Hyundaicruz to come up with the harness, but you really don't need it. It just make it a little easier. Like I said, number label your wires and you'll be able to put them right back where they were for emissions testing.

As for price, normal price is $674. A group buy will lower it. A harness is up to someone else.
