It was brought to my attention from another member that some owners of our kits have been experiencing problems, and because of the far away location of the home office (in South Africa), customer service was difficult, or next to nil.
Regardless of what those problems are, or how there were caused, Alpine developments is determined to help out any of our customers as best we can, and try to turn around any negative impressions associated with our products.
To answer your specific question, right now, the Unichip comes pre-tuned for each application. I have a list of "authorized" unichip dealers accross the country, and would be more than happy to help anyone who needs custom tuning, or help with any problems their experiencing with the Unichip in getting resolved.
I will be honest with you, and having just started to work for Alpine Develpoments July 1st, don't know as much as I should (at the moment) about the Unichip unit, but trust me, I WILL!
As far as our warranty is concerned, at the moment, on anything sold from this day on, our kits will carry a minimum "1 YEAR/UNLIMITED MILAGE" warranty against defects in workmanship and performance. The specific terms and conditions have not been finalized yet, but would only be exented longer. In fact, if Hyundai makes the decision to offer the 2.0L s/c or turbo kit (or our new 2.7 aqua-cooled s/c kit) to the dealers, we will be matching their warranty (10 YEAR/100,000 MILES), with in writing from Hyundai, that our kits will not void any factory warranties!
How's that sound! Plus, even if someone bought their kit from S.Africa, I will work with them to make sure they are happy with their kit!

Electrichead...
Which applications are you talking about? Same engine size as the 1.8L/2.0L? Different?
We are currently finishing off our new 2.7L aqua-cooled supercharger package for the new tiburon, and will be test fitting one a an Optima from Kia. We are also working on a s/c package for the new Sorento full-sized SUV.
Let me know what application you're talking about!

...but so I don't get in trouble with the moderators, please direct any inquiries about new products to: info@alpine-developments.us (it will come to me, and I'll reply to each and every one).
As I have just recently discovered, there seems to be some problems with some of the kits that have been sold prior to our official U.S. arrival. The only thing I can promise now, is that I will do everything in my power to resolve those problems with everyone, get U.S. dyno numbers, and get scheduled for CARB certification, before we attempt to sell any more kits. If anyone needs assistance regarding problems. Please contact me direct.
In the meantime, as time allows, I will try to offer help and advice to fellow members here within my field of expertise. Thanks again.
