No problem. There were a few back in the day that would build their cars, but kept most things a secret. That's not what the forums are about.

Spent WAY too much time bolting these pieces on:

Well back when a lot of people were into it it was more of a competition. There are only a few of us nut jobs left so we might as well help each other!

You better put some skidplates around those, I'd be scared they would get caught on something and damaged. Too much $$$ to risk!

I won't be daily driving it, and don't plan on lowering it, so they should be ok driving around town. They hang about 1.5" lower than the frame rail. I thought about mounting them back behind the spare tire well, but that would be a lot more line and having to route the line across the rear suspension twice! There's not much to attach to back there unless you took a bit of time drilling into some heavy steel.

Grrrr!!! Stupid fittings! Turns out most of the oil leaking is coming from BOTH ends of the oil return line I "made". I used the fittings that compress the stainless lines. I'm gonna switch it out for push locks. And if need be, put some pex fittings on them.

I also bought a feed line from a guy that makes custom lengths on ebay. Looks nice, performs like crap! I'm gonna have to ask him about it. Unless he used a fitting other than 37 degrees, it shouldn't be leaking.

Yeah, I have that type of oil drain in a -10an. It has always leaked a bit where the hose goes into the compression fitting. I've never really worried much about it, its only a light residue on mine. One trick is to put some high temp RTV on the male part of the fitting before inserting it in the an line. Let it cure 24 hours before running oil through it, it'll help it seal up.

Ugh, glad it isn't just me. I know I put it together correctly. And it took tons of torque to get it together. I'm just going to pass on that type of hose and go back to barbs. Much easier to correct if something goes wrong.

Gah! I just spent the last 2 hours taking down the gas tank. There were literally 10 random hose and cable connections that were ABOVE the tank. Half of them needed to be disconnected after lowering the tank about 4". It didn't help that an old oil leak coated the tank with goo. I got the tank outside and decided that was enough work for now.

Well at least the goo probably prevented rust! Are the straps still good?
