I think I mentioned it before, but as much as you spent already, it would be a drop in the bucket to have the case strengthened. I bet even though the local shops wouldn't have time for you, they may be able to give you some extra tips on top of cryo treatment. I'd call several shops and take notes.
Wowzers those are pretty and your definitely dedicated to the cause of making your Tib as fast as the crooked H looks..
As for case issues, maybe look into having extra ribs welded on the outside? I've seen people get pretty creative with AL plates welded all over the outside of the case. Most look like sh1t but are bomb proof. lol

Yeah, thanks for the tips guys. I'll do some googling to see what I can find regarding case reinforcement. I know a lot of Honda drag setups replace 5th gear with a machined link that connects both of the shafts, but I wanted to keep 5th gear for cruising and warp speed lol.

The time has finally come, after 23 months I am now able to put my hands on the only PAR gearset ever made for an RD Tiburon! He did an excellent job. The OD of the input shaft matches the diameter of the old shaft where the input shaft seal rides to the thousandth of an inch. I was worried I'd have to get a custom seal for that.
I'll post up some pictures as I put the trans together (hopefully this weekend). I didn't look into case strengthening yet though, which I may still do if I decide to hold of on assembly.

Sorry it's been cold in New England and I haven't been motivated. I may get to the project this weekend. If so I'll be sure to share progress here. All in due time...

Finally got around to working on the trans. Here are some photos:

New discs with the larger spline to match the oversized Mitsu Evo input shaft:

Hope to have it together and back in the car by tomorrow.
