Low Boost On Stock Compression
They said around 15-20 weeks although I haven't given them details of the gear ratios I want yet. I ordered the qualife lsd and misibushi speedo gear a few days ago and arranged for them to be sent straight to Elite :-) he said he wants to know what crown wheel I want as this will be the first part he's going to make.

That's not a bad turnaround time at all for a custom gearset. But, estimates are just that. Look at Tdonnell's case. Hope it goes quick for you.

I'm still waiting for my gearset to be completed. If I recall correctly we went with a 3.2:1 final drive ratio. That will give me 80mph in 2nd, 120 in 3rd, 150 in 4th and 185 at 7500 rpm in 5th.
At this point I've lost faith, but I recently bought a house so I'm not itching to have to drop the additional $3500-4000 once he gets the job done...

That's a perfect ratio. You'll want to stay in 4th crossing the finish line, and I'm betting you can bump the rpm limiter in 4th to carry you further if you get to that point. Unlike being slow, going too large with gears isn't an issue in the 500hp club. You're going to rip the tires all the time.

Looks like the gearset project may be a bust. He said he's going to refund me my money and let me know when he completes it so I can pay all at once. I'm tired of waiting for something that never seems will be completed! Might need to look into other options. Of course there is also going to be the matter of getting the factory gearset I sent him returned to me. It cost $185 to ship USPS so I may be better off just taking it as a loss, that's if I ever actually get my refund. Talk about being upset!
At least if he tries to screw me I have a brother that lives within an hour of his shop. Which would probably make legal action much simpler.

Oh damn! I really thought they would come through for you. They always get good reviews.
Maybe you could send another set to just get cryotreated. I believe Liberty will do it for anyone, but I'm sure they have a long waiting period as well since it's race season.

Man that blows!! Chances are your not the first one he's done this too so I'd start trolling around and find others with a similar story. Also if no refund comes in a timely manner contact the BBB.

We spoke over the phone about 6 weeks ago. I'm still playing the waiting game on the gearset. I've waited too long to throw in the towel now. Fingers crossed!
