I have no clue as to why your creeping up that much. Have a picture of you manifold and wastegate?

Look here:

The gate integration is fine and it is 1 7/8" pipe for god sakes!

It only crept 2-3 psi past the gate pressure before, but I figured if I increased the gate pressure it would creep less.

Little did I know huh.

Interesting. I still can't figure out why your creeping, or as to why you have that Airram, you should let me borrow it.

haha.gif haha.gif Fat chance on that request, lol.

Yeah I don't know either. Only thing I can figure is the gate cant open all the way. To be honest, I can't even hear the gate opening at all, and the boost rising rate never slows. Something is up, I have to tear it apart tomorrow after work and see what's up.

I confirmed the dual spring theory of adding the spring rates together equalling the total boost on tial's website so we KNOW that is accurate.

I am wondering if I didn't have creep before, if the gate just didn't open until I hit 13 psi?

Maybe I can try increasing the diameter of the inlet hose to the gate from the boost piping (its about 3/16" now, maybe go to 1/4 or 5/16"?).

Do you have a 90 degree bend right off the flange of the wastegate?

Use a bycicle pump with a gauge and check to see what pressure your gate FULLY opens at. Only way to be accurate.

Straight pipe off the gate itself. Only like a 70 off the mani.

About to check it now...

I dunno, it took about 25 psi to open the gate with both springs according to the regulator gauge on my air compressor (can't be TOO accurate, but it does make sense, seeing that I couldn't even hear the gate open even at 20 psi). Who knows why it had to get that high.

I put the big red spring by itself back into the gate and it works fine, creeps up to about 15 psi. I'm lost here.

Car runs great though!

Got the stock brakes back onto the front with stock wheels all around and the 225/50/15 bf goodrich drag radials ready to be mounted. Also straightened the camber out on the front to maximize traction at the track. I hope I don't break an axle.

I was wondering if I was to get the ferrea valve springs and retainers if it would be safe to rev it out to 8000 rpm? I heard the lifters tend to get overfilled from you Denis, causing them to stay open or what? I rev it out to 7500 now on stock valve springs with no problems so far.. Knock on wood, lol.

Also, anyone know where I can get a switched power from under the hood for my boost control solenoid? I think I will have to get it from one of the relays as none of the fuses are switched. Also, how will the boost control solenoid work with my creep?

Any help or info is greatly appreciated Thanks!

Hey again everyone.

I'm about to wire the boost control soleniod's switched high into the cab because I can't find one under the hood. Does anyone know where I could get a switched high from under the hood without using the ignition circuit (don't want to splice into that).

Also, I had been noticing that after I drive the car for a while under boost kind of beating on it, the oil dipstick will be pushed out of its bore. Tonight when I got home there was a light amount of oil spatter under the hood, on the valve cover, and back on the IM, and of course the oil dipstick was pushed out of the shaft about 2" from flush. What could be causing this other than blowby? I don't smoke at all even at 15 psi. Only thing I can figure is the pcv isn't closing under boost pressure and the crankcase is being pressurized through it. How else could that be happening without me consuming a ton of oil?

Shouldn't the PCV valve be preventing boost pressure from getting through it and into the crankcase? I guess I can clamp off the line for it and make a quick run to see if the oil dipstick gets pushed up.

Thanks for any help everyone.

bad pcv valve,
bad breather or hook ups
blow by

for the swtiched 12 volts you should havea some in the engine compartement fuse box, worst case fuel injectors have a switched 12 volts

for the lifters past 7500 stock spring will let the lifter float, making them pump up
