ij ust dont see how that dyno was for the same setup?

i mean they use two totally differant turbos two totally differant manifolds, the car that DID put down 600 WHP used a water-air intercooler and had no exhaust and was probably running some pretty agressive cames based on what i heard with the pross car


now it may be the same MOTOR in each car but that doesnt mean i can post a dyno of some 800 WHP car because my motor is also using pauter rods and wiseco pistons


john posted that dyno to imply that it was his, saying u took it with your cellphone kinda means that u are saying its yours. after he posted it alot of people quoted it and started going wowzers over the #'s and he never corrected it....

i dont really care, the purpose ot this thread was not to oust him and get every1 pissed @ him, i legitimatly wanted to know what kind of power he is actually putting down

oh, and im not pissed about the voting... if i had lost yea id be pissed if this came out after, but since i tied i dont care, i also wish for the voting more pictures of the car were used and details of each, since it was pretty important

thats the direct quote from the image he posted.... nowhere in there does it say it's a dyno of his car.... just the set up that he has and what it's capable of.



I disagree with whoever said that this statement implies that the dyno is of his car... I admit, I too thought that it was, but I think thats because we either A. didnt read carefully, or B. just plain misunderstood. I dont think he was implying... hear me out:

Had MadJohn put a couple more words in there I think it would have been much more clear, for example:

"this is at the veryedge of the envelope, the only thing holding me back FROM THIS is the turbo and the driveshafts....shit"

had those words been there I would have immediately understood that he was saying he would have to upgrade his turbo and driveshafts to put down those numbers, instead of assuming that the dyno was his. but we have to remember, madjohns english isnt always perfect. He didnt really say anything wrong, we just jumped all over what we would have liked it to be and made assumptions. our fault, not his. theres my 2cents


EDIT- I do however agree that the misunderstanding probably should have been corrected... but maybe he thought we were just liking the potential of his car? i dunno...

RedZ, by saying that hp was primarily what I had based my vote upon I meant that it was obvious to me that to achieve such awesome numbers, a lot of hard work & dedication had gone into the project. For someone to love their car & the scene so much that they would put all their blood, sweat, time & money into it means that they deserve my humble vote in such a contest. I wouldn't say that there is anything particularly special about the appearance of MJ's car but it sure as hell isn't ugly either.

That said, Viper's car is awesome too... But I only had one vote to give.

TibMinn, you can disagree with me all you want but my take on the whole of MJ's thread (not just from what had been quoted in this thread) is that hp claims were made, a dyno sheet was posted, praise was showered upon MJ & MJ seemed more than happy to suck it all up. I'm not saying he's a bad guy or that he asked for all the arse kissing he received in that thread but it would've been very easy for him to say: "Guys, this isn't a dyno of my car but it's from another Tib with a very similar setup to what I currently have".

True true, that is standard for a drag spec "only" here.. now on my frame i have had the seams respotweled ever 1cm the the 2in appart from the factory. there is no need to cut up the tibby the frount bumper is just that a bumper there is nothing behind it
