If it sounds like it's idling on three cylinders it just may be. Carefully check all your spark plug wires for arcing damage (pinholes in little round spots) and pull and examine the plugs.

Leads

Crank sensor via ecu (check readings)

TPS Reading via ecu

Remove boost pipes to check for a bloomin rag in there lol

Im glad stocker spoke up about the plugs, because you said there was turbo lag and what not.

it might have been cause by your plugs fouling out.

Make sure you are using proper heat ranged plugs, i am pretty confident that its the problem.

Great, thanks

Ive bought a new set of BKR7EIX plugs, the ones in there at the moment are quite old by the looks of it, the ceramic on the top is discoloured.... so looks real old. And they were the -11, so gapped a little wide

Have got the new plugs on the way - and the EIX's are gapped a little closer (i think about 0.32) than the .11's so im hoping this will help solve the issue.

I took the plugs out last time and they were pretty manky, so cleaned them all up, but never had this issue.... so im glad i just spent cash wisely then by the sounds of it.

On another note, its a T25 running about 5psi, not got a dyno readout but was told about 220bhp (im guessing its more like 170-189whp) so I thought i was correct in jumping up 2 stages to a 7 was correct - would you agree?

Thanks again

How wide were the gaps when you checked them? Discoloration on the ceramic is normal. I better indicator of wear is on the center electrode. Really old copper plugs will have the electrode worn down and rounded on the sides.

they were only very slightly over .11, but looked very old. Its got the iridium ones in there (ive also just purchased iridium replacements) but the tips are very small as standard on those... not like the nickel / copper ones where the tips are quite fat - these are like the end of a biro.....

Hoping its the plugs - although, it was fine before removal, and i didnt touch the plugs during removal / assembly.... maybe it just went kaput at bad timing lol

Stranger things have happened, but try not to get your hopes up till it's running right

Hey guys,

bit of an update -

Plugs changed - the engine sounds a LOT better - not like a tractor anymore, but at that point, didnt affect the rev issue i had

All boost pipes taken off, no rags in there!

Crank sensor removed, and wiring inspected. I cleaned up the sensor and replaced, and now it has improved - but now instead of doing it at 1.5-2k, it does it at 4k.

TPS is working ok

Cleaned IAC valve

Seeing as the main improvement was when the crank sensor was cleaned and replaced, is it plausable that it is the Crank sensor at fault here guys?

Seems a little odd that it only shifted the problem up 2000rpm rather than sorted it - arbeit only for another 2000rpm
