Enthalpy makes the harness, wires it up really. The E6X like I have is $1500 with the flying lead harness(generic). The E8 is around $1550. I wish I could trade my E6X in for the E8 even steven. lol

prices are from a www.froogle.com search...

The E6X isn't something I have adapted to the Tiburon yet. It's not nearly as capable, so you will have to choose which factory stuff you don't want working. In addition, you will have to run batch injection. I suppose I could con Tommy into letting me remap his car really quickly for batch injection, as the fueling requirements are higher.

As for the cost, many buy-it-now items on Ebay are much cheaper than what javageek laid out. I would check there as well. Examples:

That ones is without the flying lead loom.

That's with the loom, which I would need, unless you have another one somewhere.

To be honest I am not too worried about the lack of accessories. It would be possible to keep the iac, ac, and evap right? That should be all we need correct?

I would rather use what I have now rather than spending more money. I am not too worried about the loss in fuel economy either as it is not my daily, only a weekend toy if you will, lol.

Is there a two step function on the E8 or E6X?

Please look into it for me and let me know what you come up with in this tread or via PM.

Thanks,

T.

Enthalpy, I do have a Hyundai base map for the E6X provided by someone at Haltech if you want to try it out. It is setup for 440 injectors.

With the E6X you could run sequential instead of batched...
Though i am running batch injection and have no issues!

The option is there but from what I was told it was not doable on our cars. I was told this by someone at Haltech.

The E6X doesn't have the algorithm available that I used for Tommy's purge, so I might have to get creative with that one. Other than that, you should be able to have what you want. It looks like you will give up vehicle speed input to the EMS. It will still work on the dash, don't worry. VSS can be used for 2-step and launching. There appears to be a 2-step activation in the E6, but I can't see anywhere to actually set it up, suggesting you would need an extra box for that. You could use an alternate map, triggered by an external input. It's not as sophistocated, but it will work.

Tommy's car also has built-in boost control. I was VERY impressed with how well the E8 does this. It does it better than Autronics that cost more than twice the E8! This will allow things like a boost control knob that allows him to adjust boost up and down. I mapped a 3D target duty cycle in addition to a PID controller. The resulting boost control is absolutely fantastic.

The maps I saw for the E6X for this car were mostly garbage, but I'm not sure if I saw one from Haltech themselves. Sure, I would love to see it!

Haltech themselves said I needed an E8 for sequential injection. Research did not provide ANYBODY that has done it on an E6X, somewhat validating that statement. If you know of someone who successfully did it, have them take a video of them modifying the injector phasing at idle. If the engine responds correctly, then that's news to me!

Don't get me wrong, folks. Batch injecton works and delivers a very drivable engine. Just make sure you realize the drawbacks of it and are okay with them.

I can deal without the evap, no biggie there, it will still work with the oem ecu when I go through emissions so that is fine.

For the batch injection, will I be losing anything other than mileage? Throttle response, power or torque?

I think I would rather have the VS into the ecm for datalogging of track laps and such, so I will do without the two-step (is there an additional controller I could purchase for this? How much?). Could I do a two-step with the E8 and keep the vehicle speed input to the ecm? Or did you say I could use an additional box and the e6's two step function to allow me to keep the vs input?

How much time can you datalog on each standalone? Infinite with the laptop connected?

I would prefer to keep what I have and make it work, you just let me know what you need.

Thanks for all the help and knowledge here, it's nice to get some solid info from someone who know's exactly what he is doing.
