Hey guys, i need help from the guya that have been boosted a while.. first ill give an update on the car... i fixed all my throttle issues car idles great, and drive pretty good..
first of all, this thing pulls like a muthafvka.. well to what i am used to.. here are the stats IDLE, and drive wise soo far..
IDLE: 830-860 rpm
afr: 14.60-15.10
20in/hg vac ~ -0.70kg/cm2
MAF volts of about .88-.90
WOT in pretty much all areas of rpm and boost
11.80-12.20
0.55bar ~8psi
MAF volts, well they dont like me much around there and usually are like 4.8-5.00 and MAP takes over, not running any additional fuel on stock injectors right now, they are on stock fuel map, and all extra fuel comes via 2nd set of injectors.
car operates at normal operatign temp and never goes a hair above.. right now just for shits and giggles, i have my "AC" on all the time to keep the one fan going.
when boosting, fuel wise, and i had some fun with it, but most of the time drove relatively normal, but there were some 'fun fast' occasions were i was at max boost for a lil, i get around 20-21mpg.
i have been very satisfied how the tib responds to boost and would recommend boost for anyone.. really addicting tho..
NEWAY, to my questions...
When shifting under boost, i get this nice puff of blue smoke "oil obviously" im guessing from my PCV valve venting, so i routed PCV and valve cover vent to atmosphere via a T'ed off 5ft hose.. still blue puff of smoke at boost shifting.. not when under throttle, or when im not under boost, just blue when shifting at boost? is some oil smoke normal when full boost shiftng or not??
Also, this is an easy one, which i have figured out, and i just need to get dynotuned, or tweak a lil bit, but at WOT, boosting, i get some black smoke, which is because im running to rich correct? sorry for this n00b ???
i though my turbo might be leaking oil, and thus getting the blue smoke, but wouldnt i also get the blue smoke while i was accelerating?? i also need to jack my car up, and see if maybe my oil return line is leaking a bit, maybe on the downpipe.. how would i know if turbo is leaking oil????
Please help me out guys? i am not an expert yet.. heh and if u need any more info i may be able to help out..

So you go WOT, boosting with black smoke, then when you shift it turns blue? Awesome. lmao.gif
Some cars I know when they shift there is a lil poof of smoke, and they run properly and fine every other way.

thanx for the completely useless post, and completely offtopic at that.. wouldnt i get a nice lil warning and a b****ed at for that one?? couldnt you use that thing called PM you chochwood??? nana.gif directed towards REDZ of course..
anyway, i have been thinking more about the oil puffs, and the PCV under throttle would be under pressure, but when shifting would be under vaccum correct, so it wouldnt be venting, it would be sucked thru exhaust right.. or am i completely off in left field...
ahah ham, that post made me laugh lol.... anyway, i would say this is a lil bigger puff, cuz i can see it in rear view lol....

I am still not sure how you are routing the PCV valve..
T'd 5th hose?
As long as it is venting to the atmos.
As far leaking turbo oil seals.. one way is to check the charge piping. If there is oil, take the turbo back and have it replaced. Is your turbo used or new?
If its used.. thats probably what it is..
The black smoke comes from running rich... stop being a retard and go and tune it.. wink1.gif
Usually if your not pressurizing the crank case, and your still seeing blue smoke,... its the turbo.
Its either rebuild time(if its used) or replacement time (if its new).

turbo is new.. and only time i am getting oil is when i am at like mid to high boost shifts.. none while accelerating....
the vent thing.. it goes valve vent hose, to PCV vent hose, into a T and one line venting to atmosphere under car.. i had extra T so i used it lol..

Ye, generally if your seeing blue smoke... your seals may be going bad, or you might have debris buildup in there. Maybe the seals aren't bad enough to cause problems low boost, but at high they are too weak.
In any event, doesn't take too much time to tear it apart.

i got some input today that i should have listened to eralier... im probably getting WAYY to high of a pressure at 4k rpm + around 70psi maybe with the oil feed location i am using.. would that make sence why it only blows blue when its under high load and rpm??? gonna try and get better location for feed..
my feed is from where the oil sending unit used to be...
