Here's Chris' post

streetable set of engine mounts aren't available so I had to resort to somewhat
drastic measures <
P>I found a FAQ written by an Eclipse owner who used a 3M Urethane cement to sti
ffen his motor mounts. I went to my local NAPA and picked up a tube of the exac
t same stuff. It's a thick black putty about the consistency of peanut butter.
I pulled the inserts out of the engine mounts and plastered it in there to elim
inate the air gaps. So, now 2 of the mounts are essentially solid rubber. I'm
going to do the tranny mount this winter probably.

Total cost was only 10 buck
s and I can see the mounts are stiffer even though the Urethane hasn't cured yet
. It's called Windo Weld, it's used for mounting windshields in case you doubt
it's strength.

Thanks for that i think its time for me to start looking for some in the UK. Also time to give Shadohh a bell. Thanks

EDIT
Guess what guys prepare yourselves for this shock but you guys have a whole other area to 3M that we dont. The guy is looking into it but he has never heard of it what a surprise. If anyone knows any other part numbers or brand names it would be much appreciated. Sometime living in the UK is really annoying

Ugh, never mind guys. I know there are no 'springs' on the pressure plate. Its just that earlier beppomarx said that sprung/unsprung was referring to the pressure plate when i thought it was referring to the clutch disk.

Apparently misinformation being tossed around can cause confusion.

I thought what i knew was right but i didn't want to step on anyones toes. I always like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt unless you sincerely think that the Tornado gives you 15hp boost.
