the way our computers are set up you will almost always have a missfire code once in a while
especially at idle and low speed,
engine isn't running "right enough" to keep the computer happy
try raising the idle speed a bit it might help
i'm trying to work out something so the ECU don't see the "false" misfires ( i do get those once in while also)
for ignition wire ditch the nology for anything else,,
magnecore, NGK,OEM should be good enough ;-)

Thanks for the info denisst.

I pulled the transmission out of the other car a couple days ago, and the clutch disc, nor pressure plate surface look good. I am going to have to buy a new clutch/pressure plate before I put in the lightweight flywheel. I'm sure a new/better clutch would help at the track.

Should I go ahead and get a stage 3 now? Or just get a stage 1?

Any suggestions on brands that would cost about 250?

I would definately go clutchmasters if I could get one cheaper but they are expensive so..

Any e-bay brand suggestions?

Thanks guys.

you know man, to save you all from that labor later on when you are yielding more hp... might as well do the lightened flywheel with a stage 3 clutch kit combo!!!

i've had good reviews with the kits that gripforce-clutches is selling on ebay... try it out!!!

grip force seam to use rebuilt pressure plates,go to the dealer and order a new release bearing snap ring before doing the swap

for most N/A car the act HD clutch is very fine,
the performance organic lining let you slip the clutch to get good launch (keep the engine at lets say 4000 rpm and release the clutch and push the go pedal at the same time to gkeep the engine at the same 4000 rpm this gives grip to the tires,no spinning, and keep the engine where it's making nice power)

right now if you want an idea i havea VHR cluthc with fidenza flywheel grips hard, a bit too hard for my tastes
i was getting better launch with and organic disc before

New snap ring?? I would think that since you get a new throw out bearing you would get a new snap ring??

Anyway, I am REALLY thinking on getting a clutch from grip-force, especially since I have had such a good experience with the flywheel purchase.

I am looking at these two clutches:

Stage 4:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-RACING-S...003228725QQrdZ1

Stage 3:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-RACING-S...005439564QQrdZ1

The stage 3 would probably be a bit more streetable, but my power goals are at or above the stage 4's capacities.

My question is, how terrible would a daily driver be with a stage 4 clutch?? How long would it last? Same for the stage 3.

I prefer the stage 4 because there are no rivets, and it just looks better made. Prolly would be a good idea to have rivets holding the contact surfaces though, lol. And 12 contact surfaces seems like they would be smoother than 10.

Any thoughts guys?

Thanks.

the snap ring is "part" of the pressure plate, anyway for 1 or 2$ don't takea chance...

for daily driving, depends where you live,
in my area i don't get into heavy traffic, so the ceramic puck clutch is "okay" GF hates it (it'S the only reason why she doesn't want to drive the car anymore),only bad point is take offs,it takes some practice, especially with the aluminium flywheel (steel or iron one will be easier)

drag strip wise,i'll repeat myself,if i would do it again and knowing it would have taken me so long to get off my lazy a$$ to put the turbo on my car i would have used the ACT with HD organic lining,
launches on street tires with the puck disc are very hard, with a NA you just don,t want to rev the engine at 5k rpm and drop the clutch, you want to keep the engine where it makes power let slip the clutch then floor it once you get good traction

pick your own poison, but i would go with an ACT ;-)

Any sources for an act clutch?

Nevermind, just bough the stage 3 grip-force. Figure I will test it out to give them some more feedback.

I know I recieved excellent customer service with my flywheel purchase so I expect no problems with quality or shipping.

I will let you guys know how the combo turns out in a new thread so it will be on topic, lol.

Thanks for all of the feedback.

Nice times buddy smile.gif Your 60' are not bad at all and trap speed is definitely good for high 14's at least!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Didn't OP run a damn 15.1 with i/h/e, was he lying, his car some sort of freak, or was he just a damn good driver...?</div>

Yes, I ran 15.1 with I/H/E, 100lbs diet, and lightweight Roja's on 215's. I'm a pretty good driver and had a really strong running tib smile.gif

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ye, OP Ran 15.1 with those supposedly. He had slips from Capitol, so unless he found them online with a 15.1 on a FWD car that raced where he goes, then I dunno.</div>

Got better thing to do than finding and using someone else's slips. I should still have that slip somewhere.
