Auto Vs Manual

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I think I need to mod my car a little more before I head to the track, so at least I have a SLIGHT feeling of confidence. I'm not going there with an automatic almost-stock Tiburon, even though the CAI makes my car sound quite badass (I've been told), not to toot my own horn. Hopefully with intake/headers/exhaust, or just intake/exhaust (and tint, so no one will witness my expressions after losing miserably);P I will be able to beat some cars.
I hate people who streetrace...also because it isn't really fair. With just a little head start, or gaining some needed speed from behind you could easily take on boosted cars, or cars with double the horsepower. Come on, let's face it: there are people who toy around with eachother all the time on the road. I see it everyday. Who hasn't zoomed by Corvette C6 or something similar and proclaimed a victory? *wink*</div>
with your auto tib with I/H/E you will be in high 16s. Pretty sad I have to say, that's the reason why I stopped moding my auto XD and got a tiburon.
My stock 5sp tib is faster than my I/H/E XD....

Doubtful...high 16s is pretty slow for that kind of modding, even on an auto. I have no idea what auto 1/4 times are, but I doubt they're much higher than mid 17's.
**EDIT**
How much faster did those mods make your auto XD anyway?

Dude, never doubt OP if it has something to do with drag racing smile.gif
Those are the numbers that I got with my XD. Stock auto will be closer to high 17s. With OBX headers, custom exhaust, and CAI I got 16.65 with my auto XD.
With auto you are putting down about 105whp with those mods you will be putting about 115-120whp. That's what stock tib with manual tranny should be putting down.

Stock auto Tib HIGH 17's!? You have to be joking!
I know of plenty of people who have ran high 16's in their ATX Tiburons stock.
Hamhead (I believe?) only has CAI and 2.5 exhaust and that dropped him merely 1/2 a second. laugh.gif
Maybe I'm missing something vital here? Bahhh...maybe I can at least try to get the fastest N/A auto Tib...tongue.gif

I must've misread him in the other thread when he said:

Eh, who knows.

I just checked on EXD forums and this guy recently run his 05 auto XD2, which has CVVT to help a bit, and his best times were 17.26. Which is definitely not bad at all! He got 17.5 and 17.6 as well.
XD and RD weight about the same, so results should be almost the same, but CVVT helps on their engines.

im personally on 2kshark's side on this one, because i've consistently gotten 0-60 [this was stock] in an average of 9 flat/VERY low 9s. and all of you guys are saying it should be 10s.

Either you got a factory freak or you can't calculate your times right.
Take your car to the track and see what you get for 1/4mi then we'll draw some conclusions about your car smile.gif
